MAJESTY DRAWN FOR REVENGE

⭕ 1.50 Curragh (Railway Stakes, 6f) Way back, this race launched El Gran Senor (Vincent O’Brien 1983). It has dwindled in quality in recent years since winning sprees by Aidan O’Brien: 1999-2003, which included Rock Of Gibraltar; and 2005-9, which included Mastercraftsman.

Aidan, who has won it 13 times, has three against the field today, among them CD winners Unquestionable and Democracy.

But it’s probably a third, His Majesty, who is most experienced and will tell us all about the level of the race this time around.

Third in the Marble Hill over the CD, he was unlucky to be drawn on the wrong side in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The result by stall was 5-6-4 on the far side, with His Majesty (coming out of 16 on the near side) first home in his group, despite being slow away. He had finished in front of the winner on his two previous starts.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.7 His Majesty

SILMANIYA BIG BETDAQ VALUE

⭕ 3.00 Curragh (Rockingham Handicap) Big Gossey, narrowly beaten in this last year from a low stall, may have been unlucky again, drawing gate 3 and taking a hike in the opening markets.

In the last four seasons, 14, 17 and 13 have won, and in the last five years, three-year-olds have won twice.

So the finger of suspicion points to Run Ran Run (in 14) and Silmaniya (in 18), both second-season animals.

It was Silmaniya’s first outing of the season when she was beaten here, running on well but too late, a couple of lengths behind Run Ran Run, giving 7lb.

With that race to bring her forward, and first-time cheekpieces, she has every chance of reversing the placings in receipt of 3lb, so a turnaround of 10lb for two–and-a-half lengths.

Jon Riggens (16) returns to his winning trip but has a strike-rate of only 2-16, and a preference for some cut in the ground.

BETDAQ value 20.0 Silmaniya

RUTHLESS IS GENUINE ARTICLE

⭕ 3.12 Uttoxeter (Summer Cup) Ruthless Article has been prepared for this ever since he finished second in the race last year, which was his first time upped to the 3m 2f trip.

Just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, he ran here over CD a month later and won with authority.

And trainer Rebecca Curtis doubles down on a winning return to this race by booking Danny Mullins to fly over from Ireland and do the steering job.

BETDAQ value 7.8 Ruthless Article

AUGUSTE GOING TO WIN AGAIN

⭕ 3.40 Curragh (Irish Derby) ABC guide in Thursday’s Daqman.

There seems no good reason why Auguste Rodin cannot repeat his command of White Birch (3rd) and Sprewell (4th) in the Epsom Derby.

Those less-than-august thinkers who can see White Birch winning with a better start than at Epsom and Sprewell producing a smoother – and a winning – run are ignoring the favourite’s own performance, which looked cast in stone.

It will be interesting to see how Up And Under fares, first run on a sound surface, with not a lot to find on White Birch or on Sprewell.

He was only half a length behind White Birch in the Ballysax, just held, after being short of room and involved in a bumping match a furlong out.

Up And Under was well held when splitting Sprewell and Proud And Regal in the Leopardstown Derby Trial but that race was run nearly 11 seconds slow on heavy ground so, again, it’s who acts best on a sound surface over a quarter of a mile further this afternoon.

After that, there are four rank outsiders all trained by Aidan O’Brien. So, final guesses, who is pacemaker among them; who, if there is one, can ‘do a Sovereign’ at 33.0 on BETDAQ this morning?

Sovereign was 33-1 in 2019 when he took everything and everybody by surprise, making all, not stopping, gifting Ballydoyle a 1-2-3; the rest nowhere.

DAQMAN 1-2-3: Auguste Rodin, Up And Under, Sprewell

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
