IT’S WINNER-A-DAY DAQMAN: After a 7-1 nap on Sunday, Daqman was back to his three tips a day on Monday, plotting at least a winner a day, with a staking plan to keep him afloat.

Yesterday
WON 10-11 LAWN RANGER

Sunday nap
WON 7-1 DARK TROOPER

ON TO YORK AND THE ARC TRIALS: There are five French horses listed as Daqman creates a new hub to his horses to follow, looking forward to York and the Longchamp Arc trials. Though he slims down the older horses, he still has 17 Fortune Cookies, as the two-year-old numbers grow.

FORTUNE COOKIES’ FRENCH RECIPE

⚠️ HEADS UP: 19 winners so far: WON 11-8 Emily Dickinson, WON 5-6 Adayar, WON 3-5 Blue Rose Cen, WON 7-2 Chaldean, WON evens Little Big Bear, WON 2-5 Tahiyra, WON 11-4 Soul Sister, WON 9-2 Auguste Rodin, WON 16-5 Blue Rose Cen, WON 11-5 Paddington, WON 8-13 Tahiyra, WON 4-11 Auguste Rodin, WON 8-11 Paddington, WON 5-1 Perotto, WON 11-10 Nostrum, WON 10-11 Savethelastdance, WON 1-1 Elite Status (first 2yo runner), WON 10-11 Kinross, WON 4-9 Paddington.

⚠️ HEADS UP: The spotlight is on the French three-year-olds and we’ll go for easy pickings with their top colts, Ace Impact (always on our list) and Feed The Flame, until after Arc trials day at Longchamp on Sunday, September 10.

We retain confidence in Blue Rose Cen, who will run in the Vermeille the same day that Grand Pix de Paris winner, Feed The Flame, takes in the Niel.

Jockey Aurelien Lemaitre, unfamiliar with Goodwood, was boxed in most of the way out of the one stall on Blue Rose Cen and, when he tried to use the cutaway, they closed the lid!

Trainer Christopher Head remains so confident in the dual Classic winner that he thinks Blue Rose Cen will prove her stamina in the Vermeille and then go to the Arc.

Facteur Cheval gave Paddington such a race at Goodwood that he seems like a bet at Longchamp next month.

❌ Deleted from the list are Burdett Road, Equinox, Inspiral, Iresine, Nostrum and Perotto. Age Of Kings and Kinross could clash at York; we’ll keep them both until plans are clearer in two weeks’ time.

NOD AS GOOD AS A WINK

⭕ 4.00 Catterick This will be a big stamina test over two miles on soft ground. The starting point for many might be Hellenista who ran a creditable race at York last time out when fourth in a much more competitive class 4 event. The mare has winning form over this distance but crucially not on today’s ground. She is not often tried on soft ground and that might be the concern today.

Similar comments apply to Spantik who hasn’t won since 2021 when it was good to firm at Redcar. The current trainer form of Roger Fell and Sean Murray is also a concern given the stable haven’t landed a winner from their last 28 runners in the past fortnight.

It looks like the sort of race where bigger priced runners on Betdaq Betting Exchange might dominate. The ground surely has to be a concern for the Jack Channon trained runner Easter Icon who finished last of eight beaten 50 lengths when tried on soft ground earlier in his career at Ripon.

I will take a chance on the David Evans trained Winklevi who won on soft ground in France and has been slowly running back into form. His recent Chepstow run, when third, could easily prove good enough form to land this – and that’s before you even take into account the handicapper being kind and dropping him two pounds.

GAL TO STRIKE GOLD AGAIN

⭕ 5.45 Catterick Golden Gal could again be the answer to a sprint race at Catterick. She’s got a cracking record here and won this race last year when the going was also soft. She races off the same mark today and could again prove hard to beat.

David Evans saddles the mare Shesadabber who picks up a 4lb penalty for her win at Bath last week when she made all the running to scramble home by a neck. This might prove harder with the extra burden.

TEMPER, TEMPER

⭕ 6.10 Ripon Tim Easterby is striking whilst the iron is hot with Temper Trap who bids for a rapid hat-trick after soft ground wins at Doncaster and Hamilton. He still appeared to have a fair bit up his sleeve when winning at Hamilton beating Hot Team with the pair finishing nicely clear. He gets another 5lb penalty but seems to be on an upward curve and can see of the challenge of Bay Dream Believer and aow Bizarre – both from stables that are struggling for winners at present.

Bay Dream Believer has questionable form on soft ground so the main danger may come from Chagali who is proven on the ground and arrives in good form on the back of a win last month at Lingfield on the all weather.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
