SHAMROCK ROCKED: Two out of three for SHAMROCK on Thursday with a successful lay of Delight (3/1) and his next best winning Alanza (8/11). Unfortunately, he missed the rather obvious Shamrocked – 10/1 winner of the 4.30 at Newbury !
We head to Navan on Friday evening where soft ground is expected. Favourite, Cougar Ridge has been withdrawn from the opener which is a shame as I was looking forward to see him after his impressive Leopardstown success.
George Vancouver is well-bred and could easily prove strong enough on debut to land this on debut for Aidan O’Brien.
The Dermot Weld trained Encrypted Message will go off short in the 7.05 after a decent debut effort at Roscommon when second to Massiyn. If you want to pile in at around evens good luck, but not for me. The ground at Roscommon was firm in places and my belief is always wait to see if they can handle the ground before guessing – especially at such tight odds. As such he’s a lay for me tonight.
The claimer at 6.30 looks a horrible race to sort out. Full of disappointing sorts that, in some cases, are dropping significantly in class and it looks like a last chance saloon race.
Luisant is a sporting nap in the 5.55. He was pipped a nose here last time over the 5f distance – the extra furlong should suit and he does have winning form on soft ground.
