NOTTINGHAM FOREST V SHEFFIELD UNITED

7.45pm Matchday two in the Premier League begins with a very interesting fixture! Nottingham Forest take on Sheffield United for Friday Night Football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Hopes are always high at the start of the season, but these are two sides likely to be involved in the relegation battle and it will be fascinating to see how this one plays out. Sheffield United are already trading decent odds on (1.4 to 1.5 range) to get relegated this season, and we saw against Crystal Palace on the opening weekend that they are very likely to struggle.

Nottingham Forest lost on the opening weekend too, but they were away to Arsenal and weren’t expected to get points there. They are likely to benefit from the fact that Luton Town and Sheffield United are going to struggle, but Forest are definitely one of the sides in the mix to take that other spot in the bottom three. It’s pretty wide open for that spot in fairness, but you know the race will include Forest for a large part of the season. It’s still so early, it feels like doom-and-gloom to be talking about a relegation battle, but these games tend to be massive as it gives either side momentum for the season. We saw with Fulham last season their xG figures at the back were poor, but that good feeling from a good start gave them a lot of confidence going forward.

Forest come into the game as the odds on favourites, but they still have plenty of layers. They are trading 1.94 at the time of writing with Sheffield United 4.8 and the draw is 3.6. Sheffield United conceded an xG of 2.1 last weekend at home against Crystal Palace in a performance you’d have to be very worried about. They created very little and if they are conceding that xG to the likes of Palace, what’s going to happen when they meet the bigger and better sides in the top half of the table – plus how will they perform away from home?

We will get our first answer to that question here, but it’s hard to get away from Forest at 1.94. Forest were rock solid at home last season, finishing just inside the top half on the away form table. All of their issues came away from home where they only managed eight points all season, which was the worst return in the Premier League. It was like they had two different sides! Sheffield United are going to struggle this season in my opinion, but we should learn more about them here. The 1.94 isn’t a price to go mad on, but Forest look a very nice position. They had rock solid home form, and if they both reproduce their performances from the opening weekend then Forest will win quite easily in my opinion.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Nottingham Forest to beat Sheffield United at 1.94 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
