MATCH OVERVIEW:

We’re at the business end of the Hundred now on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as we race towards the playoffs. Northern Superchargers welcome Welsh Fire, in a must win game for the Welsh Fire! This is the first time that they have had a chance to make the playoffs, and although everything is open at the moment this season has been a decent step forward for them. In the last two years they have been tournament whipping boys. Northern Superchargers have been disappointing, and unfortunately for them, they start the final week sitting in second last.

Northern Superchargers won’t be making the playoffs, but things are so open in mid-table that a win here would see them join Welsh Fire on seven points each to finish the tournament. For Welsh Fire, they have to win and hope other results go their way. Not only is this a must win game for them, they have to hope Oval Invincibles beat Trent Rockets and Manchester Originals beat Southern Brave – with one of those games on Monday they could be taking the field in a worse position after to turn around a pretty big net run rate gap.

After a strong start winning two from two of their competed games, Northern Superchargers have lost four in a row – they lost their last game by 81 runs at the weekend and looked like a side that had given up. Even if they don’t make the playoffs, this is a fantastic chance for Welsh Fire.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We’re back in Headingley and we always get a good atmosphere here! The home side haven’t been great though, and they’ve yet to win a game here! The first fixture was rained off, but since then we’ve had two high scoring games. The first inning scores were 185/5 and 182/6. Both times the side batting first has won, so I think it’s a pretty straightforward decision what to do here if you win the toss. The weather looks set fair, a lovely 20 degrees.

RECOMMENDED BET:

I was really surprised to see a very even betting heat when I clicked into this market. I know the Welsh Fire haven’t had the best time in this competition over the last two years, but they have made some good improvement this time around. Northern Superchargers just haven’t been good enough, morale must be low after four straight losses and they were played off the park at the weekend. Being at home might give them a boost, but I feel the 1.98 on Welsh Fire is cracking value here. I’d have them a good bit shorter.

The Edge Says:
Three points win Welsh Fire to beat Northern Superchargers at 1.98 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

This is a high scoring venue, so I would definitely spend the largest time of your time looking for trades on the batting side. That fits in well here because the Northern Superchargers bowling hasn’t been good, and it’s gone for plenty of runs here too. It seems it pays to bat first, and it good batting conditions it will pay to support the batting side first – hopefully that’s Welsh Fire as that would be the ideal trading opportunity for us.
