MATCH OVERVIEW:

England and New Zealand continue their T20 series on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with the 2nd T20 on Friday evening. England took a 1-0 lead on Wednesday with Harry Brook once again banging the door down for a place in the ODI squad for the World Cup. He made the headlines last week when he got left out, but since then he scored one of the most dramatic centuries in the Hundred and hammered a not out 43 off just 27 balls on Wednesday evening.

Jos Buttler must be looking on wondering what to do. Brook has made an immense case, and although the World Cup is fast approach, it is still a while away – will he be in this type of form by the time the tournament comes around? Another issue is who do you take out of the squad – Liam Livingstone is bowling well and Dawid Malan is also batting well (scored a 50 on Wednesday). The man under pressure might be Jason Roy who hasn’t had a fantastic run of things. He’s been rested for this T20 series, and he will be back in action for the ODI series here.

It was interesting to see the market hasn’t changed the prices after the 1st T20. Basically the New Zealand batting flopped and England chased down 143/3 in 14 overs. The New Zealand batting was always going to be a worry on this tour, but their bowling went around the park too. England couldn’t be happier with the start.

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We move to Manchester for the 2nd T20, and this is the first International T20 here for quite a while. The last one was in July 2021 – we actually had a thriller as England chased down 154/6 with only two balls and three wickets to spare. And speaking of the ODI World Cup squad, Jason Roy was man of the match for that game! We can get a range of wickets at Old Trafford, generally you want to avoid the slow and low wickets here with plenty of spin. Apart from the ball turning square, 180ish is usually a decent score here however when Pakistan toured in 2020 we saw two 190+ scores posted.

RECOMMENDED BET:

I took a chance with New Zealand in the 1st T20, but based on what I saw I’m happy to switch to England here at 1.5. I felt they should have come down in price a little after the first game. The New Zealand batting was always the worry for me, and they didn’t perform very well. Plus the England batting looks in immense touch. I still feel the New Zealand bowling can do much better, but they went around the park on Wednesday. The 1.5 is worth backing, but don’t go crazy with stakes.

The Edge Says:
Two points win England to beat New Zealand at 1.5 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

At Old Trafford, you want to confirm batting conditions before doing anything else. As I said above, sometimes we can get a very slow and low wicket here and you don’t want to get caught on the batting side if that happens. Apart from that, if we have a standard Old Trafford pitch we should see runs, and I’d be very happy to support the England batting line-up after seeing what they did to the New Zealand bowling on Wednesday.
