FRIDAY PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews ASTON VILLA v SHEFFIELD UNITED with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ASTON VILLA V SHEFFIELD UNITED
8pm The countdown to Christmas continues on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with more Premier League action for Friday Night Football! Aston Villa host Sheffield United in a game the home side will be fully expected to win. They are trading as short as 1.23 at the time of writing with Sheffield United 16.0 and the draw is 7.8. Unai Emery has this Aston Villa side playing some superb football, and I would suggest it’s been a long time since they started a Premier League game trading as short as 1.23!
Not only have Aston Villa been excellent this season, they are only one point behind league leaders Arsenal, but Sheffield United haven’t been up to Premier League standard. They sit bottom of the table, but to be honest the bottom three are looking a bit detached now. Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton Town are all odds on to go back down to the Championship, and there’s a five point gap from Luton in 18th to Nottingham Forest in 17th. Sheffield United have an overall performance figure of -1.17 which is the worst performance figure from all the major leagues in Europe, never mind just the Premier League!
Sheffield United have changed their manager, and they did get a win after that with a 1-0 win at home against Brentford. They have issues all over the pitch however; their average xG created is only 0.77 – the worst attacking figure in the Premier League. Then they are conceding an average xG of 1.94, which is the worst defensive figure! Where do you even begin to fix those issues? They are nailed on to go down in my opinion, and I feel this game is a case of how many goals will Villa score rather than will they win.
While the 1.23 shot is too short to recommend – no prizes for tipping those odds – I would recommend including Villa in any Acca this weekend. I can’t see past a comfortable home win here. Not only have Villa been fantastic going forward, they have been superb at the back. Their average xG conceded is the third best in the Premier League; only Arsenal and Manchester City have been better at the back.
There are a couple of options I like here. Aston Villa -1.5 goals at 1.66 is a very appealing position, and Both Teams Not To Score is also very appealing at 1.8. Sheffield United have been very poor going forward, and away from home their average xG conceded is just 0.66. That’s an exceptionally poor figure! I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, but Both Teams Not To Score is a nice position at 1.8. Villa can keep a clean sheet on the way to winning.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.8 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
