TOTTENHAM V BURNLEY

8pm The FA Cup Third Round continues on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with three fixtures on Friday night, however Spurs v Burnley is the TV game so that will be our focus. It will be interesting to see what kind of team news we get here; as I said in my preview of Thursday night’s action, most Premier League sides look down on the domestic Cups these days. However, it’s a welcome change for Burnley who have been really struggling in the Premier League and we all know how long Spurs have gone without a trophy so it’s another chance to break that run.

That being said, you wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of changes from Spurs here. Less so for Burnley, but their chances of staying up in the Premier League look quite slim now. They came into the Premier League season with the general opinion that they wouldn’t even be in the relegation battle. They were so impressive in the Championship, however just 11 points from 20 games has given them even less chance of staying up than Luton Town at the moment. For all the drama around Spurs this season, they are only one point behind Arsenal with both sides playing the same games.

It’s always funny comparing the media narratives around Premier League sides. Spurs have been poor at times, especially at the back and while Arsenal have been solid, they have dropped plenty of points recently. It’s like comparing the pressure Erik ten Hag gets from the media at Manchester United, whereas Mauricio Pochettino has less points at Chelsea and doesn’t face half the pressure. Spurs have got an exceptional manager in Ange Postecoglou, and he can guide the club to success at some stage in my opinion – an FA Cup run would be a nice start.

Spurs come into the game as the odds on favourites. They are trading 1.51 at the time of writing with Burnley 6.6 and the draw is 5.0. It’s hard to have confidence in this Burnley side, their average xG created in the Premier League is only 1.06 which is the fourth worst attacking figure in the league. Away from home, it drops to under 1.0 and they are conceding an average xG of 1.87 away from home too – you don’t win many games conceding two goals!

I would expect changes from Spurs here so I’m keen to keep stakes limited – it’s always shrewd in the early stages of the FA Cup to keep stakes limited – but I can’t see past a home win here. Spurs have been exceptional at home this season and they have been level above this Burnley side. The 1.51 is big enough to back in my opinion.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Tottenham to beat Burnley at 1.51 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
