BAYERN MUNICH V UNION BERLIN

7.30pm We have midweek Bundesliga action on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this week as Bayern Munich host Union Berlin. This was the only game that the Bundesliga had to catch up on, but Union Berlin had to have their Friday night fixture postponed due to bad weather so they now have two games in hand. Union Berlin stayed just outside the bottom three – they were due to play Mainz who sit in the relegation playoff so that was a massive game in the relegation battle. The shock of the weekend in Europe though was Bayern Munich losing!

It was an absolutely huge weekend in the Bundesliga title race. Bayer Leverkusen had a very tough fixture on paper away to RB Leipzig but they won 3-2 in dramatic fashion with the winning goal in injury time. What a way to do it, and what a boost in confidence. As I said prior to that game, wins like that will make the squad really believe that they can win the title. Then, Bayern Munich lost to Werder Bremen on Sunday afternoon with home advantage. Leverkusen now have a seven point advantage in the title race – a win for Bayern here will close the gap to four points but that’s still a decent gap at this stage of the season.

Bayern will be fully expected to win here, but you could have easily said that on Sunday too. Prior to the weekend, Werder Bremen were only three points ahead of Union Berlin towards the bottom of the table. Nevertheless, Bayern Munich come into the game as the red-hot favourites. They are trading as short as 1.2 at the time of writing with Union Berlin 18.5 and the draw is 8.6. It’s hard to believe looking at Union Berlin now that this fixture was a top of the table clash last season, you could have even said that Union Berlin were in the title race at some stages last season.

Obviously they massively over-performed last season and this season they are massively under-performing. They have really struggled to score goals and they aren’t taking their chances. Their average xG created is 1.37 which is basically mid-table form, but their actual goals scored is just over 1.0. They are conceding very close to two goals per game on average too, and again their average xG conceded is mid-table form. They are not taking their chances and conceding more than they should which isn’t a good place to be.

Obviously the Bayern stats are incredible, but they have dropped a few points again this season. Dortmund pushed them all the way last season, and now Leverkusen could actually end their run of title wins which would be incredible. Bayern have put Union to the sword when they have had home advantage recently. They’ve won the last two meetings here 3-0 and 4-0 – Union have managed to pick up a few draws but that seems to be their best chance of a result.

The market is expecting goals here – Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.43 and the market also expects Bayern to do most of the work as Both Teams To Score is trading odds against at 2.2. I know Union have really struggled to score goals this season so I am going to keep stakes small, however they are creating more chances than they are scoring and eventually they will start taking their chances! Bayern have been sloppy at the back too, and I feel Union can score at some stage. An added bonus is if Bayern do indeed go 3-0 or 4-0 up they tend to relax and the game gets very open. I’d have Both Teams To Score shorter here and the 2.2 looks a very nice position.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 2.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
