4.7 BEST BET AT WINCANTON: Daqman, who was half a length away from an eighth winning nap in a row yesterday, aims high at Wincanton with a best bet at 4.7 on BETDAQ this morning.

ENGLAND GETS LEFT BEHIND: Today Daqman paints the racing scene ahead of two Grand Nationals in April and the start of the Classics in May. It’s all about France and Ireland.

FRANKEL IN SPLENDID ISOLATION

Europe has it all. French-trained Ace Impact (Jean-Claude Rouget) was 2023 three-year-old of the Flat-racing year, closely followed by compatriot Big Rock (Christopher Head) from the same stable last year as dual Classic winner, Blue Rose Cen.

Ireland’s Aidan O’Brien won the Epsom Derby for the ninth time with Auguste Rodin, and has the 2024 favourite, City of Troy; in fact, his colts and fillies are favourite for six Classics in the Oddschecker listings.

England clings for sovereignty to its breeding history, still defying Coolmore with ‘king’ Frankel of Banstead Manor, whose prizemoney earnings in 2023 were £7.1million, the highest figure since Galileo ran away with the 2019 title, bagging £12.5m

Frankel last year got Mostahdaf (third-top 2023 champion for Team Gosden), Westover, Inspiral, Triple Time, Hurricane Lane and Nashwa into the top 20 horses.

But his Classic crop this year injects Diego Velazquez (Aidan O’Brien), Kilidasa (Charlie Appleby) and the top filly, Ylang Ylang (Aidan O’Brien) into the teams of Ballydoyle and Godolphin, whose target these day are the rich prizes of Dubai.

Before the Flat-season proper gets under way, Ireland has taken 18 of the 28 first-prizes at Cheltenham, including the Gold Cup for the second year running with Galopin Des Champs (Willie Mullins).

On Tuesday it was announced that Irish raiders will fill 28 of the top 34 places in the Grand National at Aintree on April 13.

Next Monday, Willie Mullins has the favourite for the Irish Grand National in Nick Rockett.

And at Aintree, the English champion jockey elect, Harry Cobden will ride for Ireland, booked by Emmet Mullins for the 2022 winner, Noble Yeats.

BEAU NAP CHANCE UP IN TRIP

⭕ 2.00 Wincanton Local trainer, Paul Nicholls, doing battle with Dan Skelton for the English jumps championship, has daughter Olive bidding for a double in this top amateurs’ hurdle, with Banteer introduced to handicaps off a low mark. BETDAQ 3.7.

Ragamuffin, 18 times placed out of 20 – seven wins – then hit too high a mark over hurdles, as was to be expected.

His last three wins were here and he is more than a stone lower now for a trainer who hits form in patches, Neil Mulholland, currently striking at 30%. Ragamuffin 41.0 for small win and place in nine-runner race.

⭕ 3.00 Wincanton Dan Skelton’s Elle Est Beau strikes a Grand National chord today, related as she is to Aintree-hero Many Clouds.

That suggests her step up to 3m will change her luck. An eyecatcher (2m) at Warwick in November; lost a shoe at Sandown when one of the favourites, stepped up to 2m 4f.

Joint favourite again to redeem herself over the same trip in the Anne Boleyn, back at Sandown, she was leading when a faller at the last.

Gaye Legacy has won twice at a lower level (holds Fortuna Ligna) and her new mark has pushed her up a grade to class 3.

Dan Skelton knows all about Royale Dance, whom he trained before she won at Leicester for Noel Williams. Harry Cobden will ride her today.

That’s made possible because Paul Nicholls needs Freddie Gingell to claim off Sabrina, whose dam En Vedette (‘to push into the limelight’), makes appropriate the mare’s link with a star name of the Fifties and Sixties when the architecture of Sabrina’s bra was a marvel of the age.

Just Go For it is 20lb higher than her Wincanton win at the start of this month last year over shorter.

Tequila Blaze and Chloe’s Court are back to form but, like Just Go For It, a bit long in the tooth at 10 and 11.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.7 Elle Est Beau

STORM LOOKS BETDAQ VALUE

⭕ 7.00 Kempton With James Tate 2-2 at the moment and Mount Athos 3-3 at Kempton, all with James Doyle in the saddle, the pair look set for back-to-back wins in this race.

The grey Mostabshir scored on his debut at Kempton and spent his three-year-old career in Group races, taking on the likes of Paddington at Royal Ascot.

But his first run after being gelded was a disappointing return at Chelmsford in November.

At the offers, I prefer Arabian Storm, another winner first up last March. From a stable in form, with Oisin Murphy returning with a winner at Southwell yesterday. BETDAQ 3.9, as I write.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
