MATCH OVERVIEW:
We have another cracking fixture at the IPL on Betdaq Betting Exchange as Mumbai Indians host Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday. Once again we have a very interesting market here with Mumbai Indians coming into the game as the favourites. They have only managed three wins from their ten games which is the joint-worst return in the IPL this season along with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mumbai Indians are one of the most popular IPL franchises so it might be easy to understand the odds from that point of view, but their backers have had their fingers burnt a lot this season!
KKR are at the other end of the table; they have been absolutely sensational with the bat and have done some incredible things. They’ve posted 272/7 which is their high score, but they’ve actually crossed 200 five out of the six times they have batted first! Unfortunately their bowling hasn’t been as good as their batting – they scored 261/6 and still managed to lose against Punjab Kings last week! They are in with an excellent chance of a playoff finish however with six wins from nine games so far. Punjab Kings did then a favour beating CSK on Wednesday, and while Lucknow Super Giants also have 12 points they have played one game more.
This should be a very high scoring game – we have excellent batting conditions and two very average bowling units. Mumbai might be one of the worst sides with the ball this tournament, but it’s been hard to fault their batting line-up. They have been put under immense pressure but have done reasonably well. Plenty of sixes to come here!
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
As I mentioned above, it’s hard not to expect a very high scoring game here. Both sides have bowling attacks that have been very hittable this tournament and we’re going to have excellent batting conditions too. Apart from the first game at the Wankhede when Mumbai Indians batting collapsed for 125/9 we’ve had high scores. Since the first inning scores have been 234/5 (won), 196/8 (chased) and 206/4 (won). I’d bat first here given you’re going to get excellent conditions and bowling to hit.
RECOMMENDED BET:
I mentioned above that it was surprising to see Mumbai Indians as favourites based on their level on play this season, and I’m very keen on Kolkata Knight Riders at 2.12 here. I fully accept the fact that Mumbai are a very popular franchise and they are always well supported in the markets, but in my opinion this price is wrong. We landed a five star NAP on Rajasthan Royals to beat Mumbai Indians and then again with Lucknow Super Giants in Mumbai’s last game. We can do the same again with KKR.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
With conditions so good for batting at the Wankhede, I would focus on looking for trades on either batting side. I feel we’ll get a very high scoring game here, and it will be high scoring in both innings too in my opinion. Both sides have bowling that you’d want to take on; we’ve made plenty taking on the Mumbai bowling this tournament and I don’t see a reason to change now. In an ideal game, Mumbai would bat first and score 200 to see KKR chase it down; however if KKR bat first I would expect a very big score. I think we’ll see most market movement when Mumbai bowl given they are the favourites.
