MATCH OVERVIEW:
The Super Eights continue at the T20 World Cup on Betdaq Betting Exchange, and we have a huge game on Friday as England clash with South Africa. Both these sides got off to a great start with wins in their first games. South Africa would have been expected to come through their game against USA while England won against the hosts West Indies in very impressive fashion. After getting themselves into a bit of bother in the group stage, it felt like England finally arrived at this World Cup. As we all know, they are a very dangerous white ball side when they are in form, and the performance against West Indies was the first to give hope that they could defend their crown.
Their bowlers went well for the conditions, still conceding 180 however when England are at their best, it’s always the batting that leads the way. Phil Salt smashed 87 off just 47 balls and having him in good touch at the top of the order will take the pressure off Jos Buttler. More importantly Jonny Bairstow produced a great knock with 48 off 26 balls. Having Bairstow in form in that middle order is going to be absolutely key to England – he could actually power them to a World Cup win given his talent. He had a terrible IPL; scored very few runs, got dropped, came back with a match winning century, poor form again – it just didn’t go well for his confidence.
It will be interesting to see how England perform here; they came up short against Australia in the group stage and while South Africa aren’t quite at that level, this will be an excellent test for England to see where they are. South Africa have won every game at this World Cup, but it hasn’t been without drama – they’ve got themselves into some tricky situations against the associates! A fascinating game awaits.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
England are back at Gros Islet in St Lucia quickly after opening their Super Eight campaign against the West Indies here on Wednesday night. Conditions were very high scoring in the group stage here; the first inning scores were 180/5 (chased), 201/6 (won) and 218/5 (won) before West Indies scored 180/4 on Wednesday night and England chased it down with 15 balls to spare very easily. This game is at a different time so that’s the only factor to be aware of when considering conditions; however you’d have to expect very good batting conditions again.
RECOMMENDED BET:
England come into the game as the favourites at 1.79, and I feel that there’s a little value in that price. They have some excellent momentum after the win against West Indies, and let’s not forget the West Indies looked in excellent form prior to that game. We have the same conditions that generally suit England here, and the South African batting has flopped a few times this tournament despite winning all their games. With the South Africa batters struggling a little, they will always have that chokers tag at big tournaments of course, the England bowlers might not get hurt here. That leaves the way for the England batters to fire them to victory.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
As I said above, the start time is different here from the West Indies game so I would just assess conditions in the opening overs before opening a trade. You’d have to expect good batting conditions though looking at the ground data from this tournament – even Scotland put up 180/5 against Australia for example. In general, you want to be looking for trades on the batting side here – however you would also have to be a little worried about the South African failures with the bat against weaker nations already this tournament. I feel the best in-running trade will be supporting the England batters in either innings.
