ROMANIA V NETHERLANDS

5pm We finish the Last 16 on Tuesday, and we have another two fascinating markets on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We’ve already had plenty of drama at this stage; Netherlands fans would have been getting quite excited when Italy crashed out on Saturday and then England were 1-0 down going into injury time on Sunday. England managed to escape another poor performance, and now it feels like we might be heading towards a Netherlands v England Semi-Final. Romania will have something to say about that here; however Netherlands come into the game as the red-hot favourites. Netherlands are trading 1.46 with Romania 9.2 and the draw is 4.7 at the time of writing. The Netherlands probably weren’t expecting to be on this side of the draw – the general feeling was they would be second behind France and as it turned out they ended up being third with Austria winning the Group! Netherlands have been big movers in the Outright market with the way things have turned out though, and while they haven’t played the best football things have opened up nicely. Their path is this game, then the winner of Austria and Turkey, then the winner of England v Switzerland – you pretty much couldn’t ask for a better trip to the Final!

Romania did top Group E however, all four teams finished with four points there! They started the tournament with a superb 3-0 win over Ukraine going into that game as under-dogs and then we had the crazy draw price as they played Slovakia with a draw putting both sides through. The draw was trading 2.12 is the build-up to that game! The reality here is that both sides conceded more chances than they created in the Group stage; obviously Netherlands had a tougher Group but the 1.46 feels a little short here. Romania managed to top their Group in qualifying behind Switzerland, which looks better now Switzerland and already waiting in the Quarter-Finals. Netherlands have a lot of attacking talent, but they have mainly focused on being solid at the back – that has resulted in them losing some attacking flare. They were especially boring in the World Cup for example. I do feel the game will be closer than odds of 1.46 suggest, and I couldn’t put anyone off the Netherlands lay at the odds. An interesting bet as well is Under 2.5 goals at 1.92. I feel we’ll have a quite cagey game here; Romania won’t be too adventurous and neither side has created a huge amount of chances. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet, but I feel the Unders offers marginally more value.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.92 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

AUSTRIA V TURKEY

8pm The Last 16 comes to an end with Austria v Turkey. Austria have quickly turned into the dark horses of Euro 2024 after topping a Group with France and the Netherlands in it; now they are on the easy side of the draw and the path to the Final is quite clear on paper. A lot clearer than the other side of the draw anyway! Should Netherlands and Austria both win we could see a quick repeat of the Group fixture that finished 3-2 to Austria! Most UK football fans will know Ralf Rangnick from his time with Manchester United; he spoke a lot of truth in his press conferences and with the way things are at Old Trafford that was never going to work. Things might have been different now given the new ownership, but at the time the truth was never going to work. The reality is he was a complete flop at Manchester United with the squad downing tools – in his defence the United squad have done the same to multiple managers and it’s clear now that Rangnick wasn’t the problem at United. Austria come into this game as the favourites at 2.06 with Turkey 4.4 and the draw is 3.4 at the time of writing.

Turkey have been one of the most entertaining sides to watch at Euro 2024. They have had Over 2.5 goals land in their three games so far, and they’ve had many dramatic moments! The win over Georgia was probably the most entertaining and open game of the Group stage, then they were hammered by Portugal but went through with a 94th minute winner against Czech Republic. Obviously they have conceded a lot of chances, and that has to be the major worry here heading into this game. Rangnick has Austria set up perfectly; his system really works and increases the talent level of the squad – they were able to go toe-to-toe with France for a large part of the game (especially the first half) and then got the better of the Netherlands in a high scoring game too. I do feel that the 2.06 on Austria offers value here; Turkey are a good side but they came up so short against Portugal it’s hard to see them at the same level as Austria. However, I do feel the best position here is Over 2.5 goals at 1.99. Turkey have been playing a very open game throughout Euro 2024 and I can’t see that changing here. Austria don’t sit back either, they generally go toe-to-toe when the time comes – an early goal for Austria here would really open the game up. Once again, I couldn’t put anyone off either bet but it’s the Overs for me.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.99 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
