THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT: Vital to take BETDAQ morning offers if you can. Otherwise a Daqman one-two like yesterday’s becomes loose change instead of crisp notes: 2.9 Letsbefrank and 7.3 Tenerife Sunshine were separated by a short-head at Pontefract but ended up 4-7 and 4-1 at SP after non-runners. Daqman’s back-to-back Deauville supernaps were also very short at the ‘off.’

Sunday
WON 1-5 MQSE DE SEVIGNE (supernap)
WON 4-7 LETSBEFRANK BETDAQ 2.9 (Tenerife Sunshine 2nd 7.3)

Saturday
WON 3-5 AVERTURE (supernap)
WON 2-1 APPLES AND BANANAS
WON 7-5 SIMMERING

LOOK OUT AT YORK: Daqman launches his York previews, with Fortune Cookies today and a stats and facts guide tomorrow.

FORTUNE COOKIES FOR FIVE HITS

FORTUNE COOKIES: Half a dozen horses to follow are spread over five races, mainly on the four days of the big York meeting, with just the one clash. It’s a clash we may welcome.

There is the option of level stakes on both if the prices are right but it is more likely that, with a profit in mind, we shall choose one and save on the other.

Which way we go between Asfoora and Big Evs depends on conditions on the day and the mood of the BETDAQ market that morning. Current ratings at left.

088 KNIGHTSWOOD (Charlie Johnston) Stayers Handicap, York, Wednesday
117 BLUESTOCKING (Ralph Beckett), Yorkshire Oaks, Thursday
112 ASFOORA (Henry Dwyer, Australia) Nunthorpe Stakes, York, Friday
113 BIG EVS (Michael Appleby) Nunthorpe Stakes, York, Friday
107 LAKE VICTORIA (Aidan O’Brien) Debutante Stakes, Curragh, Saturday
111 LAKE FOREST (William Haggas) City of York Stakes, Saturday

HOOKED ON PIRANHA

⭕ 5.55 Windsor Piranha Rama was a very easy course and distance winner last week and the David Evans trained runner can strike again to defy her 6lb penalty in what is effectively an action replay.

This looks a weaker contest, both in terms of numbers and quality and again Puglia looks the danger.

She finished a two and a half length second in last week’s race behind Piranha Rama who made all and it’s hard to see that form being reversed despite the swing in the weights.

Equally, Cassandraalexandra who finished sixth in the same race on what was her handicap debut (and her best race to date) has ground to make up on the probable Betdaq Betting Exchange favourite.

Baileys Honeymoon completes the quartet and this one also has ground to make up on Piranha Rama but not from last week’s Windsor race. She finished fourth to Piranha Rama at FFos Las last month and now has nearly seven lengths to find.

WIN 20 OPTION IS AVAILABLE

⭕ 7.40 Yarmouth This race had three different Betdaq favourites in early Monday trading and any of five could head the market come post time.

It’s the most competitive race of the day – judged by the market and the most significant morning support was for Duchess who was an easy course and distance winner four starts ago but crucially that was on good to soft ground (good to firm tonight) and her overall profile of 1-22 surely makes her one to oppose?

In any event she has ground to find on Rock And Royal who is another course and distance winner but one that needs to bounce back after flopping at Ayr last time out when sent off a 6/5 favourite but finishing stone last of seven runners.

Keen Interest finally got off the mark when stepped up in trip here last time out but puzzling is now back in trip?

At double figure odds I’ll take a chance on the mare Available Angel for a WIN 20 return. She saves her best form for this course and this time of the year. Her two career wins have both come at Yarmouth in August!

She ran a shocker last time out over seven furlongs but her previous course and distance second to United Force in a better race than this suggests the ability is still very much there.

FORM AN ORDERLY Q

⭕ 7.55 Windsor Back to Windsor for the final selection who is Q Twenty Boy – the proverbial winner without a penalty but also one whose form can reasonably be upgraded.

He escapes a penalty for his win in an apprentice race at Chelmsford last Thursday and did really well to win that day as he stumbled leaving the stalls but was coaxed back into it and probably had a lot more in hand than the official 1/2 length winning distance.

It’s a hugely competitive finale but you can see trainer Mark Usher’s logic in striking again quickly – he also has him entered up at Lingfield on Thursday.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
