COVENTRY CITY V TOTTENHAM

8pm The Carabao Cup Third Round continues on Wednesday as Coventry City host Spurs on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Coventry City will be aiming for another Cup run after their incredible run in the FA Cup last season – they went very close to knocking out Manchester United too as the Semi-Final had to go to penalties. Most football fans will be expecting Spurs to win here, and you get the feeling that Ange Postecoglou needs something good to happen. The media sensed he wasn’t happy after the North London Derby, and they got a few comments out of him that will easily become meme’s and haunt him for the season.

When he said he usually wins trophies in his second season, that’s quite clearly putting a bit of pressure on Spurs given they have gone so long without success. Every time they get knocked out of a tournament that will be brought up; let’s be honest they have no chance of winning the Premier League! It will be very interesting to see what kind of team Postecoglou names here, and how strong he goes. After the North London Derby loss; I would expect him to go quite strong.

Spurs come into the game trading as the odds on favourites at 1.47 with Coventry City 8.0 and the draw is 4.8 at the time of writing. Coventry have had a slow start to the season in the Championship – only five points from five games, but they have been playing better than the bare results suggest. They have the third highest average xG created, but the issue is they haven’t been taking those chances. Their average xG conceded is very respectable at 1.13, so they just need to sort out their issues up front and start taking their chances.

Spurs should get the job done here – the gulf in class between the Premier League and Championship is massive recently with all the money in the Premier League – however the 1.47 doesn’t jump off the page as massive value with Spurs away from home. A mistake at the back is never far away with Spurs; and with Coventry creating some good chance I feel they can get on the score sheet at some stage. Over 2.5 goals looks a very nice position at 1.59 – I have no worries with Spurs attacking, obviously the main worry is Coventry not taking their chances this season, so I’m happy to keep stakes small here but this should be an entertaining game.

The Striker Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.59 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
