IT’S THE DAQMAN NAPS ACADEMY: After back-to-back supernaps to end last week, Daqman’s nap scored again at Kempton yesterday and he landed a 5.9 place on BETDAQ when missing a 23.0 target at the same meeting by just a couple of lengths …

£5m SLIPS FROM IRISH FINGERS: It was the longest losing weekend in Irish-racing history as their two champion trainers, first Aidan O’Brien in America on Saturday (with City of Troy), then Willie Mullins in Australia this morning (with Vauban) failed to reach the frame in the £2.9m Breeders Cup Classic and the £2.3m Melbourne Cup.

‘WE’LL KEEP COMING BACK’..

Has Willie met his Waterloo? A 90-1 winner wasn’t the biggest talking point after the Melbourne Cup this morning.

There was shock on the faces of the Irish contingent, quickly turning to determination: we’ll find a way for another horse on another day.

Willie Mullins was scratching his head after Vauban failed again, 14th a year ago as favourite, 11th today as third favourite.

Vauban ‘looked a picture,’ but was flat out from halfway; he obviously doesn’t like the conditions down here.

Stablemate Absurde, 7th in 2023, made up a couple of places, less than two lengths behind the 90-1 winner, Knight’s Choice, who had finished fifth in the Bendigo Cup last week.

Absurde will be back was the verdict of the Mullins camp but the long-term future was a case of ‘we’ll find the ammunition and we’ll keep coming back until we win it.’

It was the second shock of a bitter weekend for champion Irish trainers, after Saturday’s disappointing day in the California dirt for City Of Troy and Aidan O’Brien in the Breeders Cup Classic.

BINHAREER HAS A FUTURE

⭕ 12.15 Redcar A convincing winner on the soft at Redcar a month ago, Binhareer returns to the Yorkshire track, with no turf form among the opposition or obvious potential to beat, so around even money.

His trainer, William Haggas, has had four winners in November already, and the stable comment on Binhareer is: ‘Still plenty to learn but will be a nice horse.’

GLASTONBURY CAN BACK UP

⭕ 3.44 Redcar Another with more improvement likely is Glastonbury, who was helped by the application of cheekpieces in his switch from AW to turf, when scoring at Yarmouth on the soft.

Similar company on similar ground here, and only 3lb higher for James Fanshawe (three winners in five days racing).

Jockey Kaiya Fraser has ridden 36 winners this year, and Glastonbury was 3.0 favourite on BETDAQ this morning.

‘WE’VE GOT’ BETDAQ VALUE

⭕ 3.50 Newcastle I’m sure we all wish success to the Graham Lee Racing Club but is We’ve Got This worth our pound?

I think very much so at 7.7 on Betdaq Betting Exchange after twice placed in her three prep runs to get a handicap mark, and looking very unexposed.

The three around her in the market have had six runs one place (Ghostman), seven runs one place (Glitter Code) and six runs no show at all for both Bow Street and Azuinthejungle.

Irish-born Graham Lee, who won the 2004 Grand National on Amberleigh House, and the Ascot Gold Cup on Trip To Paris (2015), after switching to the Flat, suffered spinal injuries in a stalls incident on today’s track, Newcastle, in November.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
