PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews BRIGHTON v SOUTHAMPTON with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BRIGHTON V SOUTHAMPTON
8pm We have Friday Night Football from the Premier League to enjoy on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week as Brighton host Southampton. Brighton will be viewing this as a must win game against the side sitting bottom of the table – there’s no getting away from the fact that Southampton have really struggled with life back in the Premier League so far, and they are already long odds on to go back down to the Championship. Brighton, on the other hand, are having a very positive season so far and a win here would see them jump over Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City into second spot for the time being!
Brighton come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.44 with Southampton 7.6 and the draw is 5.6 at the time of writing. Brighton have been grinding out a lot of results, and that is to their massive credit because a lot of times in recent years they have finished with high xG figures and been unable to get over the line in games. Their average xG created is only 1.4 this season which is a mid-table Premier League figure, but they have been over-performing in front of goal with an actual goals scored average of 1.75. They have a mid-table average xG conceded figure too, and Brighton will be hoping they can keep scoring from awkward angles to keep their good run going.
The stats make for grim reading for Southampton fans. Their average xG created is only 1.11 which is the second worst attacking figure in the Premier League. They “only” have the fourth worst defensive figure, but when you put everything together they are the second worst side in the Premier League. Only four points from twelve games leaves them nailed to the bottom of the table and they are already at the stage where they need back-to-back wins to even get back in touch in the relegation battle. It’s quite easy for heads to go down and morale to be very poor in these situations.
Obviously Southampton have had issues at the back – they have all issues all over the pitch in fairness – but they have been very poor up front. They have a very low chances created figure, and they aren’t even converting close to those chances. They’ve managed to score the fewest goals, and their two results this season have come with home advantage too. I have to say I couldn’t put anyone off including Brighton in their weekend Acca at 1.44 – Southampton are there for the taking. Although I like the Brighton win at 1.44, I do feel that they can win easily here – I’m going to go with a Handicap option, and I like the 2.13 on Brighton -1.5 goals.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Brighton -1.5 goals to beat Southampton at 2.13 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
