CRYSTAL PALACE V NEWCASTLE

3pm The Premier League action continues on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We don’t have a 12-30pm kick off this Saturday so we kick off the action at 3pm with four games – we have four very interesting markets, but the pick of the action is Crystal Palace hosting Newcastle in my opinion. It’s fair to say that both sides come into this weekend under pressure – Crystal Palace are sitting in the relegation zone and Newcastle have had a disappointing start to the season. Another loss on Monday Night Football at home to West Ham leaves them sitting in mid-table, that was after a decent run of back-to-back wins too prior to the International Break. The Newcastle under-lining numbers aren’t impressive either – their average xG created is only 1.36 which is at the low end of the attacking table. Their average xG conceded is 1.54 which is far too high – they have been getting away with things at the back though because their actual goals conceded average is only 1.08. After getting a taste of Champions League football, the last while has definitely been a backwards step for Newcastle.

You can see why there are rumours of Eddie Howe going – Jose Mourinho has been mentioned, but then again he’s mentioned for a lot of jobs. I do feel the performance level is hugely worrying, and it’s that factor that could easily see Eddie Howe get the sack. Crystal Palace actually have a higher average xG created figure than Newcastle this season, but they’ve been really struggling to score goals. They are converting in-and-around half of their chances, which has them in the relegation zone. We have an open betting heat, with Newcastle coming into the game as favourites. Newcastle are trading 2.42 with Crystal Palace 3.15 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. I have to say I feel the 2.42 is a little short on Newcastle here, but obviously a big worry has to be Palace actually getting over the line in games. They have got some results recently, and while I couldn’t put anyone off the Newcastle lay at the odds, I do like the draw at 3.65 – I feel that is the value price here and it’s worth a small investment in what should be a close game.

The Striker Says:
One point win Draw at 3.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

WEST HAM V ARSENAL

5.30pm We finish Saturday with a London Derby as West Ham host Arsenal. The Hammers were the focus of Monday Night Football, with Jamie Carragher warning that he feared they could get “rolled over” only for them to surprise Newcastle with a 2-0 win. In fairness to Jamie Carragher, the Wet Ham performance levels have had a lot of red flags. Their average xG conceded is 1.6 which is still far too high. Arsenal have also been conceding more chances this season compared to last, and at the moment they will be kicking themselves considering Manchester City are in the middle of having a crisis. City throwing away a 3-0 lead at home midweek in the Champions League only highlights all the problems they are currently going through, and Arsenal find themselves nine points behind Liverpool already. Although Arsenal haven’t been at their best this season, it’s no surprise that they come into this game as the odds on favourites. Arsenal are trading 1.5 with West Ham 7.4 and the draw is 4.9 at the time of writing. Arsenal badly needed that 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

That steadied the ship after four Premier League games without a win. Loss against Bournemouth and Newcastle away from home were bitterly disappointing – Arsenal finished those games with xG figures of 0.83 and 1.15 so they weren’t exactly controlling the game and unlucky to lose. Those performances would put me off Arsenal at 1.5 here, granted that it’s very hard to have confidence in West Ham given their stats. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here to be honest. With Arsenal conceding more chances this season – their average xG conceded figure of 1.35 is a mid-table figure at the moment – I can see an entertaining game here. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.71 and Both Teams To Score is 1.92. I like both options to be honest, but I do feel there’s a little bit more value in the Both Teams To Score option at 1.92. As I said above, Arsenal are conceding chances this season and West Ham can score at some stage – I am keen to not go crazy with stakes here however!

The Striker Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 1.92 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
