WEDNESDAY LA LIGA: The Ultra previews ATHLETIC BILBAO v REAL MADRID with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATHLETIC BILBAO V REAL MADRID
8pm The midweek La Liga action continues on Wednesday and we have a cracker on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Athletic Bilbao host Real Madrid in what should be a fascinating game. Real Madrid have had some excellent momentum in La Liga recently, obviously helped by the recent dropped points from Barcelona too, but we know Bilbao are very strong with home advantage so this should be a good game. Real Madrid come into the game as the favourites, but unsurprisingly they aren’t odds on favourites. Real Madrid are trading 2.22 with Athletic Bilbao 3.55 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing.
It was the perfect weekend for Real Madrid – they posted a 2-0 win with Bellingham and Mbappe scoring, which followed watching Barcelona lose 2-1 at home to Las Palmas. Barcelona started that game as the 1.19 favourites so that was one of the biggest shocks of the weekend, and now coming into the midweek fixtures Real Madrid are only one point behind Barcelona with a game in hand. Barcelona are playing on Tuesday night, and while they are odds on favourites, they are away from home so this might turn out to be a chance to go top for Real Madrid.
With home advantage, Bilbao will no doubt have something to say about that! Bilbao had their best season ever last time when winning the Copa del Rey and finishing fifth. Their performance level this season hasn’t been as high, but they deserve huge credit for grinding out so many results – after the weekend they sat in the top four behind the big three. They actually have a decent chance of taking that fourth spot this season – they are already four points ahead of Girona for example.
Bilbao have only lost once at home in La Liga this season (against Atletico Madrid), and they are conceding an average xG under 1.0 too. Last season, they only lost once at home all season – on the opening weekend to Real Madrid! They were creating a lot more last season however; their average xG created at home was as high as 1.7, and they were rock solid at the back with an average xG conceded of just 1.04. I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 2.22 on Real Madrid here to be honest – I know Bilbao aren’t playing as well, but their home record is still very impressive.
I’m happy to sit out of the match odds market here, and the bet I like is Under 2.5 goals at 2.05. I was surprised to see this trading odds against to be honest – we landed a bet on Unders in the Real Madrid game at the weekend, and I’m very happy to back it again here at 2.05.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.05 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
