MONDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews FIORENTINA v UDINESE and INTER MILAN v COMO both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
FIORENTINA V UDINESE
5.30pm We’re ticking down the days to Christmas, and Monday night fooball comes from Serie A on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! This is the final day of elite football before Christmas, and the European leagues take a longer break than the Premier League too; although Serie A comes back quicker than La Liga and the Bundesliga. We have some cracking action to enjoy on Monday with two home favourites in the shape of Fiorentina and Inter Milan – I’m sure the home double will be a popular bet! We kick off the evening with Fiorentina hosting Udinese, both sides will be very happy with their season up until now – Fiorentina are hanging on in there in the title race; you’d expect them to come up short but for the time being they are fully enjoy their Christmas. While Udinese are sitting in mid-table which is a decent result for them given they were so close to the relegation zone last season. It’s not a surprise to see Fiorentina come into the game as the odds on favourites; they have been very strong at home for a while. Fiorentina are trading 1.62 with Udinese 6.4 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing.
While Fiorentina have been over-performing a little, you can’t say they don’t deserve to be where they are – they have the fifth best attacking figure and while sides haven’t fully been taking their chances against them you have to respect the fact they have grinded out so many results. Similar to last season, their away performances have been lacking – especially compared to their home performances. They are actually only marginally creating more than they are conceding away from home, that explains their recent loss away to Bologna which broke a run of eight straight wins! Udinese have been struggling to create good quality chances, but they have been creating more away from home. They concede more than they create and that has been a major issue. They had an exceptionally strong start – three wins and a draw from their first four games, but they’ve lost eight of their twelve Serie A games since. With home advantage, the 1.62 looks cracking value on Fiorentina here and I’m happy with a Five Star NAP!

INTER MILAN V COMO
7.45pm We finish Monday night with the Serie A Champions in action as Inter Milan host Como. At the start of the season, I thought Inter would run away with the title again this season but they’ve dropped points a few times this season and with a loss in the Milan Derby a while back too, at the moment we an excellent title race in Italy. This is a game that Inter will be fully expected to win given Como have come up from Serie B – not many would have given them a chance this season given the size of the club, but they have been battling hard. They aren’t in the relegation zone at the moment, although they will likely be involved in the relegation battle given the massive jump between Serie A and B – I think Cesc Fabregas has been doing an excellent job overall though. He has Como playing some nice football, but they just haven’t been getting any luck. Como have the sixth best attacking figure coming into the final matchday before Christmas, but they haven’t been converting their chances and they have been exceptionally sloppy at the back too. Their average xG conceded is only 1.21 which is a very respectable figure, but their actual goals conceded figure is 1.75.
That’s a huge difference; Como should be sitting in mid-table under no pressure, yet they are hanging around the relegation battle very close to the bottom three. As you would expect, Inter Milan come into the game as the red-hot favourites – the home win is trading as short as 1.25 with Como 14.5 and the draw is 7.0 at the time of writing. I have to say I feel the 1.25 on Inter is far too short here; I know Como haven’t been getting the results this season so I’m not going to recommended an Inter lay – however I wouldn’t include them in any Acca over this matchday; I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market. This is a tricky game because Como have been playing good football, but they haven’t been converting their chances. Both Teams To Score is trading 2.2 with Over 2.5 goals 1.57. I like both bets, but I’m going to have a small bet on BTTS – Como have been creating enough to score at some point, but this is definitely a bet for small stakes.
