PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews LEICESTER v MANCHESTER CITY and WEST HAM v LIVERPOOL in the Premier League – all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LEICESTER V MANCHESTER CITY
2.30pm The Premier League fixtures keep on coming over the Festive period on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We have another busy fixture list on Sunday, and we have some very interesting markets too. We kick off the day with Leicester hosting Manchester City, and once again all eyes are on Pep Guardiola after City extended their miserable run on Boxing Day with a 1-1 draw at home to Everton. It must feel like they can’t do anything right at the moment! One win from nine Premier League games is absolutely unheard of in this era for Manchester City, and the run is worse when you include Champions League games too. As I said prior to their game against Everton on Boxing Day, you just don’t want to back them at the moment even if the price is quite attractive because it looks like all their confidence is gone. They were trading 1.36 to beat Everton, and they are only one tick off that price here. City are trading 1.37 with Leicester 9.2 and the draw is 6.0 at the time of writing. I know Leicester have been very average this season and they are trading odds on for relegation, but that 1.37 once again isn’t an appealing price on City.
I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here, and I wouldn’t be including City in any weekend Acca that’s for sure! That missed penalty from Haaland against Everton just sums up the situation at the moment; however as I said in my preview of that game Everton had done well to stop Arsenal and Chelsea from winning recently too. City face a Leicester side who have been very poor at the back. They have an average xG conceded of 1.86 which is the worst defensive figure in the Premier League this season – their average xG created of 1.05 is the second worst attacking figure, and on the stats City have nothing to fear here. You’d say it’s an ideal game for them to get a win and get some confidence back, but you could have said a few times on this current run. It’s interesting to see Both Teams To Score trading odds on; I actually feel there’s a little value in the City clean sheet here for small stakes. Leicester have been so poor, and City will likely have the ball for a lot of this game. I know they’ve had so many issues at the back so I’m keeping stakes small on this one!

WEST HAM V LIVERPOOL
5.15pm We finish Sunday with another short odds away favourite as Liverpool travel to take on West Ham. It was another good day for Arne Slot’s men on Boxing Day as they beat Leicester 3-1 without too much drama despite going behind early, and prior to that Chelsea lost so now Liverpool have a seven point lead at the top of the table. Not only that, they also have a game in hand over Chelsea – their biggest challenger is Arsenal but they are nine points away and clearly haven’t been as good this season compared to last. At the moment, it looks like Liverpool have one hand on the title – probably more than one hand if we’re being honest. This is another game that they will be expected to win, and they come into the game trading 1.43 with West Ham 7.6 and the draw is 5.8 at the time of writing. Not only have Liverpool been ticking off the wins, their stats are improving as well. Their average xG created is now 1.78, the second best attacking figure in the Premier League and they’ve also been superb at the back – they have an average xG conceded of 1.17.
I feel this is a case of how many goals can Liverpool score rather than will they win, and compared to the City price in the above game, you’d much rather Liverpool in your weekend Acca in my opinion! West Ham have had a lot of issues this season, the manager has been under immense pressure and has survived for the time being. The issue is still the same as last season – they are conceding far too many chances. They have the fourth worst defensive figure in the Premier League, and although they are creating a decent volume of chances, they need to fix the issues at the back. Coming up against the best side in the league this season; that’s going to be a huge issue! The market is expecting goals with Over 2.5 goals the same price as the Liverpool win, and Both Teams To Score is trading 1.66. I do feel we’ll see an open game here, but I prefer Liverpool to cover the handicap than any goal bet here. Liverpool -1.5 goals is trading 2.07, and that looks cracking value with how many they are scoring at the moment.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Liverpool -1.5 goals to beat West Ham at 2.07 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
