SATURDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews GLADBACH v BAYERN MUNICH and AC MILAN v CAGLIARI both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
GLADBACH v BAYERN MUNICH
5.30pm European football is back in full flow on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as the Bundesliga is back after their Christmas break to join Serie A and La Liga. We have the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia this week, so the focus on Saturday is on the Bundesliga and Serie A. We kick off the day in the Bundesliga as Gladbach host Bayern Munich – this should be an entertaining game; Gladbach usually like to play an exceptionally open game and we all know Bayern won’t sit back either! Bayern enjoyed their Christmas break sitting top of the table – they have a four point cushion over Bayer Leverkusen coming into this weekend and that’s going to be difficult to turnaround for Xabi Alonso’s men; they also have a tough fixture against Dortmund away from home in this matchday. As you would expect, Bayern Munich come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.43 with Gladbach 7.4 and the draw is 5.6 at the time of writing. Last season Gladbach had the worst defensive figure in the Bundesliga with an average xG conceded of 1.76; they are still struggling this season with that figure at 1.61.
That’s the joint-third worst defensive Bundesliga figure this season. So far, they have been getting away with things – their actual goals conceded average is 1.33 but against one of the best attacking sides in Europe, it’s hard to see their defence standing up to the type of pressure they will get here. I’m going to look for a bigger price in the handicap markets, but I couldn’t put anyone off the 1.43 on Bayern in the match odds market – it’s definitely a superb option for any weekend Acca in my opinion! Bayern have been top class going forward this season; their average xG created is over 2.0 – their goals scored average is over three a game. I feel the 2.07 on Bayern -1.5 goals is a top notch bet. Obviously you have to give Gladbach credit for grinding out as many results as they have this season, but they still have massive issues at the back and they come up against the best attacking side in the league here. I’d have Bayern odds on to cover the 1.5 goal handicap, and I’m happy with a Five Star NAP at 2.07.
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Bayern Munich -1.5 goals to beat Gladbach at 2.07 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

AC MILAN V CAGLIARI
7.45pm We move over to Serie A to finish Saturday from Europe as AC Milan host Cagliari. AC Milan have been struggling to get results in Serie A this season, but they have been playing good football and they managed to win the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia on Monday! That was a massive win given it was against Inter Milan in the Final; despite the venue it seemed to mean a lot to the AC Milan dressing room. They don’t have much time to enjoy that success however, because they have a lot of work to do in Serie A. They sit down in eighth coming into this weekend and although they now have games in hand on sides above them because of the week in Saudi Arabia; they are in massive danger of missing out on the European spots. Cagliari are under immense pressure in Serie A too, but at the other end of the table – they are in the relegation battle and start the weekend sitting just above the bottom three in 17th – they actually have the same amount of points as Lecce so they aren’t far off dropping into the relegation zone.
This is a game that AC Milan will be expected to win, but they haven’t got over the line in enough games this season. I really can’t put my finger on why too; they have the third best attacking figure in Serie A this season, and their average xG conceded is very respectable at 1.18 too. They’ve been performing in-line with their attacking figure, and they aren’t conceding more goals than they should be either – they should really be higher up the table! Cagliari should be higher up the table too, but they haven’t been taking their chances and they’ve been sloppy at the back as well. It’s not a surprise to see AC Milan come into the game as the red-hot favourites at 1.36 with Cagliari 10.0 and the draw is 5.8 at the time of writing. I wouldn’t be rushing to back AC Milan at 1.36 given their issues grinding out wins this season – I feel we’ll see a pretty quiet game here and was surprised to see Over 2.5 goals as the favourite. Cagliari have really struggled to score goals and AC Milan haven’t set the world on fire – I’m happy with a small bet on Unders at 2.42.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.42 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
