CARABAO CUP SEMI-FINAL: The Striker previews LIVERPOOL v TOTTENHAM with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LIVERPOOL V TOTTENHAM
8pm We have the highlight of the week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange on Thursday night as Liverpool and Spurs clash in the second leg of their Carabao Cup Semi-Final. Spurs take a 1-0 lead into this tie from the first leg, but as I said in my preview of that game, they absolutely needed to bring something to Anfield if they had any hope of getting to the Final. You’d even be worried that a one goal advantage might not be enough here to be honest given how good Liverpool have been this season. Spurs are hardly a good side to rely on sitting back and protecting a lead either!
From a Spurs point of view, it was good to see them finally get a win at the weekend in the Premier League. That stopped a run of seven games without a win, starting with conceding six goals at home against Liverpool! It was also very positive to see Spurs actually keep a clean sheet – it’s been a while! Ironically; their last two clean sheets came against Southampton and Manchester City! One win doesn’t change much however, and it’s fair to say most football fans will be expecting a comfortable win for Liverpool here. Arne Slot’s men are trading as short as 1.24 with Spurs 14.0 and the draw is 7.8 at the time of writing.
I have to say I was expecting Liverpool to be the red-hot favourites here, but I wasn’t expecting them to be as short as 1.24 when I clicked into the market! Spurs have had so many issues this season it’s hard to argue with the market here – Liverpool have been exceptional, especially going forward, and it’s just hard to see how Spurs can stop them. However; you could have said that about the first leg only for Spurs to actually grind out a 1-0 win. Liverpool did have 60% possession in that game, and they finished the game with an xG close to two – Spurs scored in the final five minutes, and Liverpool could easily say that they were unlucky looking at the figures.
I do expect a Liverpool win here, and with them trading so short in the match odds market we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. The market is also expecting an exceptionally open game with Over 2.5 goals trading as short as 1.29 – I don’t back odds as short as that, but I think I’d prefer the Liverpool win at a couple of ticks shorter! I feel Liverpool can cover the handicap here, and they are worth backing at 1.63 -1.5 goals. Spurs have made so many mistakes at the back this season, I expect Liverpool to run riot with home advantage.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Liverpool -1.5 goals to beat Tottenham at 1.63 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
