REAL MADRID V OSASUNA

8pm: Matchday One from La Liga finally come to an end on Tuesday night, but we finish with a bang as Real Madrid start their season against Osasuna on Betdaq Betting Exchange. This is a game that Los Blancos will be fully expected to win, and get their campaign off to a nice start. Barcelona were much the better side last season and put Real in their place in El Clasico too – they come into this season with Xabi Alonso in charge and it will be fascinating to see how the side play under him. Alonso was immensely impressive when in charge of Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. He comes into this season though with plenty of questions to answer with this Real Madrid side.

They were so successful in 2023/24 – won La Liga easily and the Champions League winners too – it all went wrong last season. Obviously bringing Mbappe in after winning a treble always meant if things went wrong that he would likely be the target; his failing to track back and press has been a source of anger for many Real Madrid fans. Another highlight was a viral video of Luis Enrique trying to get him to work harder just before PSG went onto win the Champions League without him. Mbappe needs a good season, and Alonso also needs to find a system to suit him too. It felt at times Mbappe was pushing Bellingham out of position, and now there are rumours also of Vinisius Jr possibly open to a move. It could all go wrong quite quickly.

Barcelona opened their La Liga season with a win on Saturday night – it’s only matchday one but Real Madrid must follow! That is the way La Liga goes, and it’ll be the top two locked in another battle for the title this season. As I said above, this is a game that Real Madrid will be fully expected to win and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the red-hot favourites. Real Madrid are trading 1.27 with Osasuna 14.0 and the draw is 6.8 at the time of writing. Osasuna are your classic mid-table La Liga side, and away from home it’s hard to see them getting anything here.

With Real trading so short, we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. Osasuna really struggled to create good quality chances last season; they finished with an average xG of 1.21 which is an un-impressive figure but does land them at mid-table level. They conceded more chances than they created, and while Real Madrid will give them chances here just because it’s in their nature to play an open game – I wouldn’t be confident on Osasuna finding the net. Both Teams To Score is trading 2.18 and I have to say I agree with the market there. Real might have some issues this season, but they unlikely to come to light here and they can cover the handicap on the way to winning – they are trading 1.76 -1.5 goals and that looks nice value!

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Real Madrid -1.5 goals to beat Osasuna at 1.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
