PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: The Striker previews Saturday in the Premier League focusing on Manchester City v Tottenham and Arsenal v Leeds with two recommended BETDAQ bet’s.
MANCHESTER CITY V TOTTENHAM
12.30pm We have another top class Saturday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange! The opening weekend pretty much went as expected for most sides; the highlight fixture was undoubtedly Manchester United v Arsenal on Sunday. This weekend we start Saturday with the highlight fixture in my opinion as Manchester City host Spurs. Both sides got off to very nice starts at the weekend, but we can’t get overboard given the limited opposition. Burnley are odds on to go down and while Wolves might survive, they won’t be far off the bottom three. Truth be told neither side had to get out of first gear to win easily but both sides kept clean sheets and you couldn’t ask for more. Of course, this game will give us a better idea where both sides stand for the season. Spurs obviously went through a lot of change during the summer; Postecoglou gone and then Son leaving too. Man City have also had a lot of change – Pep Guardiola was actually moaning about how big the squad is coming into this season. They were always going to get the cheque book out after not winning the title last season – we still await news from the 115 charges hearing!
It’s no surprise to see City come into this game as the odds on favourites – however, Spurs have had their fair share of results against City in recent years. City are trading 1.53 with Spurs 6.8 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing. In the last ten meetings between the sides in all competitions. City have only managed four wins – obviously at times we have said that Spurs have been lucky but given City always go off odds on, that record isn’t great! That stat alone would put me off the 1.48 bet, and I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market. These two sides usually scream goals, but again the stats would make you question that. Three of the last five meetings have had Under 2.5 goals collect. Over 2.5 goals is actually the same price as the City win; it’s hard to make the case that it should be shorter and I’m happy to pass on that too. I actually feel a nice option here is Under 2.5 goals at 2.86 – both sides were solid last week and how many times we have had a slower than usual tempo in the early kick off. This one might be a little more boring than the market expects.

ARSENAL V LEEDS
5.30pm We have another cracking fixture to finish off Saturday as Arsenal host Premier League new boys Leeds. Although Arsenal got off to a winning start away to Manchester United on Sunday, it felt like most fans came away from the game thinking Manchester United were the better side. That’s a worrying sign for Arsenal, but to be honest they took an early lead and held onto it well – Roy Keane made a good point after the game that perhaps they dropped so many points last season not looking for the second goal when they took the lead. They definitely went into their shell a little, and you’d hope that they could show some more attacking flare now at home to Leeds. Obviously the massive gulf in class between the Premier League and the Championship has been really apparent in recent seasons, and it’s no surprise to see Arsenal come into the game as the red-hot favourites. Arsenal are trading 1.29 with Leeds 12.0 and the draw is 6.6 at the time of writing. Leeds started their season with a win on Monday Night Football against Everton and Elland Road was rocking; they might get hit with reality here!
Regardless of the result here though, it will be a positive start for Leeds. Let’s be honest; results away to Arsenal aren’t going to be the deciding factor as to whether they stay up or not. Most football fans will expect them to lose here; anything else is a bonus. It’ll be interesting to see how Leeds approach this game – the last time they were in the Premier League they played an exceptionally open brand of football. In the Championship last season, they were exceptionally solid at the back and they impressed me at the back against Everton too. We know Arsenal can sometimes go into their shell a little, and I have to say I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.29 on Arsenal. The bet I like is Under 2.5 goals at 2.62 – I was surprised to see this trading so big when I clicked into the market. Leeds will aim to be solid at the back here and play for a draw, while Arsenal have been exceptionally solid at the back too so Leeds will likely struggle to get on the score sheet. I’d be very surprised if we had an open game here to be honest.
