CAN IRISH PARK THE BUS?
â 1.10 Cheltenham Here comes the autumn meeting.. and, of course, here comes the rain so welcome to the Irish.
We have to put up with a conditional jockeysâ hurdle followed by a veteransâ chase to replace the abandoned cross-country.
Five-year-olds dominate this (8-10) but the market mover this morning was one nearly twice that age, Irish raider Priory Park, who won four Points in a row at 3m for todayâs rider, Eoin Staples.
The winning Staples connection continued when he moved to Edward Power in September, but dropped back close on todayâs trip and on the soft. BETDAQ 13.5.
Of the 5yo contingent, Marlacco has a lack oâfight! Beaten 3-1 or shorter in 7-8 hurdles starts.
A Pai de Nom seems sure to run well but will be a short price, so Iâm having a pound on Kap Vert, son of the sire of A Plus Tard and Clan des Obeaux and could be suited by this step up in trip. BETDAQ 20.0 taken.

â 1.45 Cheltenham (Veterans Chase) Fugitif ran in tomorrowâs Autumn Gold Cup last year and then finished third in the December Gold Cup at the next meeting.
In fact, todayâs drop in class is for his 12th chase spread across the two Cheltenham tracks, old and new.
I could get 4.4 on BETDAQ this morning, and he really shouldnât have any trouble faced with this opposition:
Mister Coffey last won November 2020
Escaria Ten last won December 2020
Eldorado Allen last won February 2022
Can You Call last won December 2022
Gunsight Ridge is best at 2m; Lord Baddesley and Numitor prefer the going on top. Dreal Dealâs stable is currently 1-27.
SUD THE DANGER TO JONBON
â 2.55 Cheltenham Chase Just three horses have shared first prize in six of the last nine runnings of this Schloer Chase but Jonbon could land a hat-trick and best them all.
His autumn start-ups are 1111, with overall a chase record of 13-17. This does not reflect heart-in-the-mouth rounds here: bad mistakes, and beaten 18 length in the Champion Chase.
But in his career he has won almost ÂŁ1.4m in earnings from 18 wins and five seconds in 23 races; never out of the first two.
Old rival Edwardstone has been placed behind him five times, twice in this race, and heâs won only once since the 2022 Tingle Creek.
If youâre looking for an improver to stake his claim to the 2m title, you choose between Matata and LâEau Du Sud, both from stables in cracking form: Skelton 5-8 Monday-Tuesday; Twiston-Davies currently 6-10 still standing.
Matata is a CD winner on 157, level with Edwardstone. But he made a bad mistake at Aintree and trailed in 46 lengths behind Jonbon.
LâEau Du Sud (155) steps up from the novice ranks where he was impressive at Sandown and finished close up in the Arkle. Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.6.
THE BUCKS STOPS HERE..
â 3.30 Cheltenham (Hyde Novices Hurdle) This Albert Bartlett trial went to Nigel and Willy Twiston Davies last year. But the race took âTwiston turnsâ this morning!
Sam Twiston-Davies was booked by Anthony Honeyball for Fountains Blenheim, with Nico de Boinville down for Nigel and Willyâs Intosomethinggood. Then âFountainsâ was taken out this morning.
Iâm not into any of this (four-year-olds donât win it), so Iâll try the Irish again, with my pound on 12.0 offer Kings Bucks (Henry De Bromhead), related on the damâs side to one of my old favourites, Cyrname.
WHATâS BRUANT FOR MARTIN?
â 4.00 Cheltenham A novicesâ handicap hurdle which has turned up winners at 28-1 and 33-1 three times in the last six seasons.
So you might expect similar odds about one with form figures of 0/030/. But hey, Alphonse Le Grande is trained by ace plotter of old, Tony Martin.
The six-year-old won the Chester Plate, Northumberland Vase and Newmarket Cesarewitch in a grand 2024 Flat season yet is thrown in off bottomweight here.
But hold your horses! Just when punters âlook no furtherâ, they have to do a double take at Bruant, ridden by British champion jumps jockey, Sean Bowen. Trainer? Tony Martin. BETDAQ around 15.5.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
