WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: The Ultra previews GREECE v SCOTLAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
GREECE V SCOTLAND
7.45pm The 2026 World Cup Qualifiers continue on Saturday with some massive games on Betdaq Betting Exchange! The focus is definitely on Group C with Scotland in a massive game as they travel to Greece. From the Home Nations, Wales are also in action away to Liechtenstein in Group J – however they are fully expected to win trading 1.04, and they are also assured of a Playoff spot based on their Nations League ranking, so I’m happy to focus on Greece v Scotland which should be a cracking game.
Thankfully for Scotland fans, they are in a fantastic position but they have a very difficult finish. They are certain of a playoff spot given themselves and Denmark are both on ten points, with Greece unable to get involved back on three points. Scotland obviously have Greece away here, and then they host Denmark on the final matchday. No doubt Hampden Park will be absolutely rocking for that fixture with a place at the World Cup still possibly up for grabs. To get there though, they have to get a result here – Denmark are almost certain to win against Belarus while these two are playing; they are trading 1.04!
We have a much more competitive market here. As you would expect with home advantage, Greece come into the game as the favourites at 2.24 with Scotland 3.75 and the draw is 3.4 at the time of writing. Obviously they would love to win of course, but a draw wouldn’t be the worst result for Scotland here – it would leave the door open to beat Denmark with home advantage and go directly to the World Cup. No easy task, but even to get to the final matchday with a chance would be excellent for Scotland and they have been very strong at home recently.
Greece have made a lot of progress over the last while too; these two sides have definitely grown together with the Nations League, and they should know each others games inside out. They’ve already met three times in 2025; Scotland won here in the first leg of their Nations League Playoff, but then Greece won 3-0 in Scotland to win the tie. Looking at their under-lining numbers, Scotland were lucky to win that first leg as Greece finished the game with an xG over 2.0. When the sides met earlier in this Group, Scotland won 3-1 with home advantage but again, Greece finished the game with a higher xG figure.
On balance, Greece have played the better football but Scotland have got the results. I do expect this to be a very close game – one wonders how Greece will approach it given it is essentially a meaningless game for them. I do feel that the 2.1 is a little short, even considering that they finished with a higher xG figure the last two times they have lost to Scotland – I still feel we’ll see a closer game than those odds suggest, and it does make the draw price at 3.4 very appealing in what should be a close game.
