ITALIAN SUPER CUP PREVIEW: The Ultra previews BOLOGNA v INTER MILAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BOLOGNA V INTER MILAN
8pm The Italian Super Cup continues on Betdaq Betting Exchange with the second Semi-Final on Friday night! Bologna and Inter Milan meet in what should be another cracking game. It’s fair to say that most football fans will be expecting Inter Milan to progress here and they will view this as the easier Semi-Final compared to Napoli v AC Milan on Thursday night. Inter Milan come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.69 with Bologna 5.9 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing.
Obviously we can get some random performances from teams given they’ve all had to travel to Saudi Arabia, but Inter Milan come into this tournament in very good shape. It was an excellent weekend for them in Italy – a win over Genoa sent them top with Napoli and AC Milan both dropping points. They have bounced back nicely from losing the Milan Derby towards the end of November, and if you had to pick the Serie A Champion now you’d be picking Inter. They only have a one point advantage at the moment, but they have the best attacking figure and the best defensive figure.
There’s no getting away from the fact that Inter are the best team in Italy at the moment. It’ll be interesting to see can they break down this Bologna side though – Bologna have the second best defensive figure in Serie A this season; they are only 0.05 behind Inter and they’ve only conceded 13 times in 15 games. Obviously they don’t have the attacking talent that Inter have; Bologna have mainly focused on being rock solid at the back in recent years and that has brought them success. They managed Champions League football after the 2023/24 season and although they finished mid-table last season, they won the Coppa Italia which was a massive achievement.
Bologna are a tough side to beat, and I wouldn’t exactly be rushing to take the 1.69 on Inter here. There’s no getting away from the fact that Inter are the better side, and they deserve to be favourites – indeed, odds on favourites – but I do feel that the 1.69 is a little short. Obviously with the hot conditions, we can see very open games here. Especially given they are once off games, they can tend to be quite open. I don’t see Bologna approaching the game like that – they know they will be outgunned by Inter and will want to keep things tight. With both sides so solid at the back, I like Under 2.5 goals at 1.97 which looks cracking value – I was expecting that to be trading sub 1.9.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.97 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
