CAGLIARI V AC MILAN

7.45pm With Christmas and New Year over, European football returns on Betdaq Betting Exchange with Friday Night Football from Serie A! We had a mini-break for European football over the festive period, and now we have a clean run at domestic football until the next International Break in March. Teams really need to kick into gear now and gain momentum – no more so than the likes of AC Milan here who travel to take on Cagliari. AC Milan are just one point behind Inter Milan in the title race, and they have a one point cushion on Napoli who sit in third. We’re going to have plenty of drama in the Serie A title race this season.

If AC Milan are going to be heavily involved in the title race until the end of the season, they need to be winning games like this. Cagliari are sitting down in 14th; six points off the relegation zone but enough of a cushion not to be too worried – their performance levels have been poor though and it’s no surprise that AC Milan come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.57 with Cagliari 7.2 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. Roma and Juventus closed the gap on the top three while they were in Saudi Arabia for the Italian Super Cup, but it feels like the top three have formed now.

Out of those three, AC Milan have been creating the least – their average xG created of 1.5 is still a very respectable figure, but compare it to Inter Milan at 1.88 and you see the problems as the season continues. Inter have just plated the best football this season. While AC Milan might run into some problems in the title race down the road, they should get the job done here. Cagliari are there for the taking in my opinion. They have an average xG created of just 1.08, which is the third worst attacking figure in Serie A this season. They have also been poor at the back – they have the third worst defensive figure too.

At home, Cagliari have performed better but the 1.57 on AC Milan looks a nice bet here. They have been able to grind out a tonne of results this season – they haven’t actually lost a game since the opening weekend of the season, and they were exceptionally unlucky to lose against Cremonese too in a game they dominated. I’m happy to have a confident bet on the away win here at 1.57 – I’d have AC Milan closer to 1.5.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win AC Milan to beat Cagliari at 1.57 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE..
