DAQMAN HOT-SHOT WINS AT 7-1: Daqman turned the heat up yesterday with 7-1 winner Fahrenheit Seven and his nap, both at Newcastle, both set to score 20 points and more. They did.
Yesterday’s profit: 35 points
WON 7-1 FAHRENHEIT SEVEN
WON 7-4 MARIA DA SILVA (nap)
JUMPS SURVIVE TODAY, NOT TOMORROW: Testing conditions today with heavy ground likely at Newbury and Warwick.
English Jumps cards tomorrow at Exeter and Newcastle are both abandoned, with just an AW card at Chelmsford but with Navan to the rescue with a Grade-2 hurdle in Ireland.
CAUGHT NAPPING BY FREDDIE
⭕ 2.25 Warwick A Grade-2 winner three times, Knappers Hill is primed for this, with Paul Nicholls’ stable in top form and his latest jockey find, Freddie Gingell, doing the steering.
I doubt if any of these could have been disputing the lead at the finish of the Graduation Chase at Haydock, having to carry the same weight as the winner, horse of the season The Jukebox Man.
Freddie will be keen to teach the young upstarts a lesson: Harry Atkins, claiming 7lb off Le Milos for Dan Skelton, and Toby McCain-Mitchell 5lb off Guard Your Dreams. Both are CD winners, Le Milos winning this last year.
Grandeur d’Ame might have left this race behind at Cheltenham. He goes well fresh and that should have been his day. BETDAQ 7.1 taken Knappers Hills.
LULAMBA HAS ALTIOR LOOK
⭕ 2.45 Newbury (Game Spirit Chase) Off 157, Lulamba, from the same Nicky Henderson yard and Arkle favourite, is only 3lb behind the rating given to Altior before the first leg of his Game Spirit hat-trick.
Four runners here are rated 151 to 157 but Lulamba is two years younger than was Altior that day, and three to five years younger than his three main rivals this afternoon.
Saint Segal progressed throughout 2025, has won at Newbury and has had his form with Thistle Ask and Traprain Law stand up to scrutiny.
The J P McManus six-year-old here, Meetmebythesea, could conceivably make progress in the manner of Lulamba but needs a stone improvement in one go today!
Last year’s winner, Master Chewy, is also stonked by the race conditions, having to give weight all round and a first-time visor is unlikely to be a big enough boost.
It means that Liberty Hunter should reverse the form but, like the handicapper Calico, is 10 now.
WELLINGTON’S WATERLOO
⭕ 3.20 Newbury (Premier Hurdle) This race had a colourful history in its origins as ‘the Schweppes’, dominated in the good old bad old days by the master of Findon, Ryan Price, and in the last 25 years by Nicky Henderson, with seven successes.
Nigel Twiston-Davies, who also features in its recent history, with three wins from 2014 to 2019, saddles Un Sens A La Vie (‘a purpose in life’), ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, twice a winner for Nigel.
This handicap debutant has the stable’s winning profile for this race but the going is an unknown.
Horses of the right age and weight, winners on heavy ground, are All In You and Lanesborough, to which I would add soft-surface-lovers Let It Rain and Tutti Quanti.
Dance And Glance beat All In You and Let It Rain at Ascot in December but All In You got his revenge at Sandown last month. That gives Dance And Glance the weights pull and Let It Rain has been kept fresh.
Tutti Quanti went clear here at Newbury in the Grade-3 Gerry Feilden but has 9lb more than when connections – Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden – won it in 2020 with Pic D’Orhy.
Bucephalus is a front-runner and a punishing race boosts Lanesborough and Wellington Arch, who likes to be in the van; both have won over further.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 3.95 Let It Rain, 12.5 Lanesborough, 25 Wellington Arch (7.6 place)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
