82 POINTS PROFIT IN TWO WINNING DAYS: Daqman laid the favourites in two big Saturday races, the Grimthorpe at Doncaster and the Veterans Chase at Newbury, and named both winners at 5-1 and 14-1 SP (offers almost double at 26.0 on BETDAQ). CHELTENHAM HERE WE COME: Daqman whets your appetite today for the potential of the Cheltenham Festival to turn up star names for all times. Look out for his daily previews this week and next.
NAMES THAT TURN TO GOLD
⭕ 2.45 Huntingdon (‘Oxo’ Chase) Punters struggling to pick winners today have no doubts about the best winners of the past.
Here’s one they called Oxo, kept alive for his Grand National victory way back in 1959.
In the decade that followed, Arkle won three Gold Cups and would probably still top any poll for top jumper of all time.
But he is closely challenged by L’Escargot, the 1969 American champion chaser, who won the 1970 and the 1971 Cheltenham Gold Cup and beat Red Rum 15 lengths in the 1975 Grand National.
Galopin Des Champs has won two recent Gold Cups. I Am Maximus and Nick Rockett have won a Grand National each and were one-two last year.
All three are likely runners in this year’s Gold Cup on March 13, and any one of those names could afterwards be seen as rival to stars of the past.
Meanwhile Lounge Lizard, trained 30 miles from Huntingdon racecourse, will become a local hero to rival Oxo if he can land a hat-trick in today’s feature chase.
He’s won for Henry Daly under Jonathan Burke and Sam Twiston-Davies. But now Sarah Humphrey takes over and puts up Tom Cannon, in form with winners last week at Warwick, Leicester and Newbury.
Good luck to him and another older horse with a big weight, Mahons Glory, but young pretenders always win this, though none up in grade with marks as low as Icare Grandchamp’s 10-6.
Westerninthepark has failed to complete under Sean Bowen the last twice and I fancy Reallyntruthfully for several reasons.
When Kim Bailey has the material, he is still a good target trainer, and had a weekend Newbury win, with Guchen 19 lengths clear of a big field, yet allowed to start at 100-30.
A young Reallyntruthfully learned his trade at Huntingdon and has won his last two starts for Tom Bellamy, over hurdles and fences. Today’s ground suits.
SPARKLING TREBLE CHANCE
⭕ 3.00 Ffos Las A good race but the going is heavy and Clondaw Royale has won at this trip on soft at Wetherby and Haydock.
Still well handicapped after returning to form the last day under Benjamin Macey, who was impressive when they won at Wetherby. Too big at Betdaq Betting Exchange 7.0 offers.
Sparkling Duke is 2-2 here at Ffos Las for Kayley Woollacott and jockey Ben Jones’s fine season continues.
Despite a total hit of 12lb, La Higuera goes for a hat-trick as a seven-year-old with a future, by Walk In The Park out of a Supreme Leader mare.
CONDITIONS SUIT RAMBLER
⭕ 4.00 Ffos Las Moorland Rambler won this race last year on heavy ground and looks poised for a repeat only 3lb higher from two good runs this year.
Ionity ran well in January after a long absence but his Ffos Las form is on good to soft. Getaway With You has won four times since November but all came when dropped to novice company.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
