COPPA ITALIA WEDNESDAY: The Ultra previews LAZIO v INTER MILAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LAZIO V INTER MILAN
8pm It’s Coppa Italia Final time on Wednesday night on Betdaq Betting Exchange! Lazio meet Inter Milan again just days after the sides met in Serie A – this time will of course be very different! Inter already had the Serie A title in the bag, and both sets of Ultras boycotted the game at the weekend entirely. The Lazio Ultras have been staging a prolonged protest against owner Claudio Lotito, furious at the lack of investment and the direction of the club, with vast swathes of the Stadio Olimpico sitting completely empty. The Inter Ultras showed solidarity and announced their own boycott of that fixture too. Fast forward to Wednesday, however, and both sets of Ultras have confirmed they will be present for the final. We should have a cracking atmosphere for an intriguing game.
Inter Milan arrive at this final as the dominant force in Italian football this season. They landed their 21st Serie A title in some style – it was never really in doubt once they hit their stride after a slightly uneven start to the campaign. Their underlying numbers in Serie A tell the story of an exceptional side. Their average xG created of 1.94 is the best attacking figure in Serie A this season, and their average xG conceded of just 1.02 is also the best defensive figure. It is the complete package; they have dominated both ends of the pitch all season, and no one can question that they are worthy champions. On the other hand, Lazio have been having a very poor season in Serie A. Obviously they’ve had to deal with pretty much no home support all season.
Their under-ling numbers don’t make for great reading either – their average xG created of 1.26 is a bang average mid-table figure, and their average xG conceded of 1.44 is also mid-table. They’ve actually got away with a lot at the back too, so they could be worse than mid-table! They simply haven’t been good enough at either end this season. However, cup football is a different animal entirely. Lazio have always been a side that can raise their level for big occasions, and their Ultras back in full force after the boycott should be a boost. It’s no surprise though that Inter are odds on favourites. Inter are trading 1.73 with Lazio 5.5 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing.
Inter ran out 3-0 winners at the weekend away from home, and while we shouldn’t read too much into that because clearly both sides had an eye on this fixture here, it’s another sign that Inter have been levels above Lazio this season. Inter have the attacking quality to hurt Lazio’s leaky defence; and as I said above, they have been getting away with that this season. I can’t see past an Inter win here, and I feel we’re getting enough value at 1.73 for a Five Star NAP!
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Inter Milan to beat Lazio at 1.73 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
