LEVANTE v MALLORCA

6pm We’re really getting to the business end of La Liga now as we’re into the second last matchday on Betdaq Betting Exchange this Sunday! With the title in the bag for Barcelona and the Champions League spots wrapped up too, all the focus is now on an extraordinary relegation battle. The relegation battles in La Liga have been very open in recent seasons, but there’s only six points between 8th and 19th this season which is absolutely incredible. We have an absolute six pointer at the bottom of the table Sunday as Levante host Mallorca! Obviously we’re going to have a day of drama, but this one could not be more dramatic with the two sides currently sitting in the relegation zone.

While Real Sociedad in eighth – the last European spot too by the way – are only six points off these two sides; realistically it is the sides directly above them that they want to drag back. Elche have the same amount of points on 39, and then you have Girona and Alaves only one point ahead too. Levante are back in La Liga for the first time in three years after winning promotion from the Segunda División last season, and survival would be a remarkable achievement given the size of the step up. With home advantage, they have to take this opportunity to give themselves a huge boost to try stay up. A win here for either side could be absolutely transformative obviously; a loss is potentially fatal to survival hopes.

With home advantage, Levante come into the game as the favourites at 2.22 with Mallorca 3.65 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing. When you dig into the underlying numbers, you can see why both sides are where they are. Levante’s average xG created of 1.33 is tenth worst in La Liga – a figure that tells you they have shown more going forward than their league position might suggest, but the real problem has been at the back. Their average xG conceded of 1.69 is the second worst defensive figure in La Liga this season. Mallorca have an average xG created of 1.25 which is the joint-fourth worst attacking figure in La Liga, and their average xG conceded of 1.62 is the fourth worst defensive figure too.

It’s obvious we have two very limited sides here, and it’s not a surprise that they are in trouble, but this is a golden opportunity for both. The atmosphere is going to be absolutely electric – we saw similar scenes with Sevilla fans recently and they have jumped up the table. It’s easy to poke holes in both sides here, and for that reason it’s hard to have confidence – I feel the odds are about right in the match odds market as home advantage will be massive here. It’s sure to be a very tense affair, and I was surprised to see Over 2.5 goals as the favourite. I know both sides have been very poor at the back, but they are hardly creating a lot and with so much at stake, I don’t see a very open game either. I’m happy to be on Under 2.5 goals at 2.08.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
