PREVIEW
Bradford City continued their giant killing spree in the League Cup last night by shocking Aston Villa 3-1, so Chelsea will be out to avoid any surprises when they host Swansea in their first leg semi-final tonight.
Despite the Chelsea fans vocal opposition to the appointment of Rafael Benitez, they cannot be disappointed with the winning mentality he has restored to the team, not to mention their prolific goal scoring record of late. Two blips, one to Corinthians and more recently to QPR in the league, have distracted from the fine overall form of his new team.
Swansea were predicted by many to struggle this season after losing their talented manager to Liverpool. However, Michael Laudrup has proved a more than able deputy in leading the Welsh club to their first ever League Cup semi-final and their first last four of any major competition since losing to Preston in the 1964 FA Cup.
The former Real Madrid and Barcelona man made use of his contacts in the Spanish game to bring Michu to the Liberty Stadium for just £2 million and he is likely to carry the away side’s threat at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are short enough at around 1.43 on BETDAQ, considering they can throw in the odd shocker and the Swans’ ability to frustrate the top sides.
With both teams scoring more than their fair share in the last couple of weeks, take a chance on over 3.5 goals at around 2.19 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back over 3.5 goals at around 2.4 on BETDAQ: 4 points
