PREVIEW
Both Coventry and Preston saw their FA Cup dreams ended on the weekend as higher-division London clubs Tottenham and Millwall saw off the challenges of the League One pair.
The third division sides meet tonight at the Ricoh Arena in the semi-final of the Football League Trophy in what will be their second clash within 19 days after the 1-1 draw last month. North End came in for criticism that day for their robust approach, but Sky Blues manager Mark Robins has said his side will match the Lilywhites for physicality tonight.
Robins will have left-back Blair Adams available after he extended his loan stay from Sunderland on Tuesday. Fellow loanee James Bailey will also play and the pair impressed in the quarter-final win over Sheffield United.
Joe Garner is likely to make his Preston debut after signing a contract on Tuesday, after leaving Watford by mutual consent.
But Graham Westley’s men have suffered a blow with the news that John Mousinho is set for a lengthy spell out of action after tearing his hamstring in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at The Den.
Coventry are three points and three places above Preston on the league ladder but have wobbled of late with successive defeats to Shrewsbury and then Tottenham. However, there is no shame in losing to Spurs away and the visitors tonight have won just once in the league in two months.
Expect a tight game but Coventry are worthy favourites at around 2.06 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
