SHAMROCK’S ONLY NAP OF THE WEEK WINS: Dundalk staged the only Irish meeting of the week on Friday and SHAMROCK’s patience was rewarded with Typhoon Lily (NAP) WON 4/6.
It’s another blank day in Ireland as unfortunately Fairyhouse was abandoned, however the Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase will be run as part of an excellent card at Punchestown on Sunday.
It forms part of a now eight-race card which includes Don Cossack in the Racing UK Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) at 1.20 who is out on a recovery mission having fallen at the last in a Grade 1 at Navan last time out.
The meeting also sees Sizing Europe bid to win his fifth race in a row and a repeat win in the Tied Cottage Chase (Grade 2) for which he’ll be long odds-on.
Despite heavy ground at Punchestown the executive are confident that racing will go-ahead.
Fingers crossed. It’s a cracking card and we’ve been starved of racing this week.
