PREVIEW
Celtic got their SPL season off to a flier following a decent 2-0 win at Hibernian at the weekend. It could have been even better had it not been for a missed spot-kick as well. Neil Lennon feels his side are still a little short of match sharpness and the Wolves friendly this evening will certainly help boost fitness levels.
Given the early start to the season, the Hoops have another four warm-up fixtures before being back in SPL action with a successive away game at Aberdeen. Title rivals, Rangers, slipped up on the opening weekend and it’s vital Celtic don’t let that opportunity pass even at this early stage.
Wolves and Celtic have never met previously, but Hoops’ fans know the side will be tested against Premier League opposition. Before their SPL game at the weekend, Celtic travelled to Cardiff and picked up a hard-fought 1-0 win. Lennon will be delighted with the efforts of his side and especially with successive clean sheets.
With the game at Celtic Park it’s not difficult to see why the Hoops are favourites and with home support it would be unadvisable to go against the hosts. At around 2.07 on the ‘Daq’, I’d suggest backing Celtic to continue their impressive run of results.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Celtic at around 2.07: 4 points
Tuesday’s Return: -4 points
