SHAMROCK RULES: Ruler Of The World (WON 10/11), impressive winner of the Chester Vase, was SHAMROCK’s NAP and only bet on Thursday.
After firing two blanks this week – it’s felt longer 🙁 – it was nice to get back a winning nap on Thursday with the hugely impressive Ruler Of The World at Chester.
We’ll discuss his Derby prospects in a future column but for now the naps will be 10 from 15 if we can land one tonight at Cork.
In the 6.10 it’s billed as a match between Ghaamer and Point Piper but I don’t see it being that close.
I much prefer Dermot Weld’s Ghaamer who has an obvious chance of making it third time lucky after two good seconds.
Main market rival is the Aidan O’Brien trained Point Piper who was a creditable fifth on debut at the Curragh. Second in that race was Zand who has beaten Ghaamer and on an admitedly rather tenuous form line, Ghaamer should prove best and also has the benefit of a recent run.
