PREVIEW
Watford and Crystal Palace meet this afternoon in the Championship play-off final in a game that is reportedly worth £120 million to the champions.

There’s no doubt that the Hornets have used the ambiguity in the loan system to create a decent side but it doesn’t subtract from Gianfranco Zola’s work. However, the semi-final hero Troy Deeney isn’t one of those and he’ll be leading the line once again looking to add to his emphatic winner against Leicester.

Zola has molded his side in his image and this promises to be a fascinating game in a contest that features two contrasting styles. Brighton were well fancied to get the job done on home turf against Palace before coming unstuck by Ian Holloway’s smart tactics. He’ll look to use the counter-attack at Wembley with bags of pace on the flanks with Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha.

Holloway has a real affinity with the play-offs, but fell at the final hurdle with Blackpool this time last year and a repeat looks on the cards. Glenn Murray’s continued absence is a big loss and I don’t think they will be able to handle the Hornets attacking threat at the other end.

Both league meetings this year were cracking games as Watford fought back from losing positions to earn four points. It’ll be tight, but I fancy Watford to get the win in normal time to take them to the promised land of the Premier League.
