All eyes are on the North London clubs this weekend as Liverpool take on Arsenal at Anfield before Tottenham welcome Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

I for one didn’t see the Gunners getting anything against Spurs, but how I was proved wrong. Arsene Wenger’s side deserves plenty of praise for their performance and it could now act as a catalyst for the remainder of their campaign. At 2-0 down the Gunners were dead and buried, but now they’ll believe they can hand Kenny Dalglish a first home league defeat of the year.

Liverpool were very fortunate to get their hands on the Carling Cup last Sunday and if Kenny Miller had been a little more composed just before the final whistle it would have been a very different story. Cardiff carved out all sorts of opportunities against a poor looking Reds back four at Wembley and they can expect a sterner test against Robin van Persie and co.

Dalglish will have taken the cup victory anyway it came and he’s still in the hunt for the cup double this season. The Carling Cup win may have taken its toll after a grueling extra-time battle and Arsenal can take advantage of some tired legs. Arsenal have all the momentum heading into this one having hammered their bitter rivals and they look set to tighten their grip on the final Champions League spot with another big three points.

Manchester United reverted to type at Carrow Road as they snatched a hugely significant win with the last kick of the game. It’s amazing that Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes are still playing at such a high standard, but Sir Alex must be a little concerned that he’s relying on the midfield pair after all these years. United will need to be much sharper at White Hart Lane on Sunday, as you can expect Spurs to be hurting after the derby defeat.

Spurs have been superb all season and I feel they got ahead of themselves after going two up against the Gunners. Redknapp will have rightly given his players a piece of his mind and he’ll demand a response in front of the fans. Spurs will have to do it the hard way after Gareth Bale was ruled out and Scott Parker serves a one-match ban for his dismissal.

It finished goalless when United were last at the Lane in the league and Spurs have got closer and closer to ending their hoodoo over United. I fancy it to be a cracking weekend for North London and Spurs can do Man City a massive favour with a victory.
