Manchester United will have their chance to avenge Sergio Aguero’s title deciding winner in May when they travel to the Etihad for the latest chapter of this enthralling rivalry. The champion’s title defence has not been without difficulty with Roberto Mancini’s side already three points behind United and eliminated from Europe.

Even though the owners wanted City to fight for the Europa League it was patently clear that the players and manager were not so hot on the idea. City have spent millions assembling their squad and it’s embarrassing they couldn’t even win a match in this year’s Champions League. Defeat in Germany leaves City to concentrate on domestic matters and trying to close the gap at the top.

United opened a three point advantage on the back of City’s 1-1 draw with Everton and a 4-3 win at Reading last weekend. However, City remain unbeaten in the league since August and you can bet they will be trying a lot harder on the pitch than against Borussia Dortmund.

Sir Alex Ferguson was fuming at his side’s defending at Reading and I cannot blame him. They were dreadful and if they defend anywhere near as badly this could be another 6-1. I cannot believe United will be as bad and they will have benefitted from resting key starters during the week. I’m looking forward to seeing the league’s best attacking force against the best defense, but I just think they are going to cancel each other out. There are definitely goals in this one and I like the 2-2 at around 14.0 on BETDAQ.

In form West Ham then welcome Liverpool to Upton Park looking to build on their superb 3-1 win against Chelsea last weekend. They also gave a good account of themselves at Old Trafford the fixture before and Liverpool could be another big scalp.

Liverpool will be without Luis Suarez on Sunday following his fifth booking of the season and that’s a huge loss for them. Suarez has bagged 10 of Liverpool’s 19 league goals and is the heartbeat of the side.
Without him they rely on 17-year-old Raheem Stirling for goals, who’s battling for a new contract. Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel provide some danger from free kicks and that’s about it.

The Hammers have enough height to nullify set-pieces and they should create a lot more chances at the other end. Sam Allardyce has enjoyed a cracking week and it’s going to get a whole lot better with a win here.

Betting on BETDAQ – Alan’s Punts:
Manchester City v Manchester United – Back the draw at 3.6 and 2-2 correct score at 14.0
West Ham v Liverpool – Back West Ham at 3.15
