Harry Redknapp described the January transfer window as “gang warfare”, yet he still has managed to secure some players in a bid to help his chances of avoiding the drop. One of those was former Tottenham player Jermaine Jenas and another to join on a loan deal was Andros Townsend. QPR’s main issue is a lack of goals and if that doesn’t change then I cannot see them staying up.

Rangers face Norwich on Saturday lunch-time and the Canaries are fresh off the back of holding high-flying Spurs to a point. It took a wonder goal from Gareth Bale to get his side back in the game and Chris Hughton will fancy another positive result in London.

Even with the point last Saturday, Norwich are without a win in four and have suffered a dip in league form since the middle of December. QPR remain rock-bottom and they’ve only scored three times in six league games. They have improved defensively and can hold Norwich to a point – not enough at this stage for ‘Arry.

Fulham will be sick of the sight of Manchester United when they welcome them to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. At least Martin Jol got the win mid-week over West Ham in a much improved performance. Dimitar Berbatov scored on his birthday and he’ll be hoping for a better effort
than the one his side gave at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.

There have been ten goals in the two games between the clubs already this season and I’m expecting that trend to continue. Robin van Persie has dominated most headlines this season and it’s great to see Wayne Rooney making a mark again with a brace against Southampton.

I expect Fulham to put up more of a fight than last weekend, but United are too strong going forward to miss out on the chance to go ten points clear – albeit possibly for only 24 hours.

Sunday’s highlight is Liverpool’s trip to the Etihad. I was interested to see that the Reds have yet to beat anyone in the top half of the Premier League since August and they were in the perfect position to do so at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

Brendan Rodgers will still be kicking himself after watching his side dominate Arsenal and open up a 2-0 lead before poor defending cost them dear.

Man City were also left frustrated during the week on the back of a goalless draw with QPR as Julio Cesar proved unbeatable. Roberto Mancini was pretty unlucky not to get the win and he can make up for it against an inconsistent Liverpool side.

City have won three on the spin at the Etihad without conceding and they have taken 29 points from a possible 36 here. At around 1.87 on BETDAQ, City are a great shout to win their third straight home league game against the Reds.
