CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Wednesday’s  matches in the Champions League with recommended BETDAQ bets. BARCELONA v JUVENTUS and MONACO v DORTMUND.

BARCELONA V JUVENTUS

7.45pm Barcelona find themselves in dire straits after an away first leg again, and it’s hard to see Juventus crumbling like PSG did in the last round. They’ll have to put in a huge effort to stop Barcelona though, because Barcelona have scored at least three goals in seven of their last eight Champions League games here! That stat might make Juve to qualify look very short at 1.16, however they arrive into the Camp Nou having not conceded for 441 Champions League minutes.

So, it’s an interesting clash ahead! And the odds at the time of writing currently stand at; Barcelona 1.58, Juventus 6.2 and the draw is 4.8. Juventus actually won their last game here, however that was way back in 2003 when they won 2-1. It’s possible after the PSG game here and the “need to win” effect that Barcelona are probably a few ticks shorter than they should be – certainly 1.58 feels a little short, we don’t feel that there is that much of a difference between the sides.

Juventus have a superb record away from home in the Champions League too this season – they’ve won all four games while scoring 10 and only conceding once. It’s highly likely they’ll arrive here to set out their stall to defend, knowing that Barcelona will have to do something special to qualify – and with that in mind we see value in the goals market. Under 3.5 goals is currently 1.82, which appeals slightly more than the Barcelona lay at 1.58, we can see Juventus time wasting and breaking up play from the start, and unders looks superb value. It’s hard to see Barcelona running through a top quality side like Juventus.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 3.5 goals at 1.82.

MONACO V DORTMUND

7.45pm After a terrible incident involving the Dortmund team bus last week, this fixture was put back a day, and it’s hard to know how much of an impact going through that ordeal would have had on the Dortmund players. They lost 3-2 in the end, and were heavy favourites to win so it came as a shock.

Dortmund are favourites tonight’s too, with the odds at the time writing; Monaco 3.05, Dortmund 2.28 and the draw is 4.1. They’ll have to overcome a poor away Champions League record though, and go against the trends with Monaco’s excellent home record too. Dortmund have lost eight of their last 11 Champions League games at the knockout stages, and Monaco have won 21 of their last 30 home Champions League games.

The game obviously screams goals, however the markets have priced that in – with over 2.5 goals trading an eye wateringly low 1.38! We’re going to stay away from the goals markets purely because we don’t see any value in the prices, and in what should be an entertaining end-to-end game, the value call is the Dortmund lay at 2.28. With their poor away record and Monaco solid at home, we feel that there shouldn’t be that much difference in the prices.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Dortmund at 2.28.
