NOW FIVE NAPS IN A ROW: THIS IS THE LIFE! Daqman’s done it again, again, again, again! The odds-against 13-lengths winner Ainsi Va La Vie (such is life!) made it five naps in a row and four consecutive winning supernaps, all in the space of 10 days. He’s now had eight best bets up out of 10. The last five:

WON 11-10 AINSI VA LA VIE (yesterday’s supernap)
WON 1-2 QAYSAR (Wednesday supernap)
WON 7-4 KAYFLEUR (Tuesday nap)
WON 2-1 CIAOADIOSIMDONE (Monday nap)
WON 4-5 FOX NORTON (Sunday supernap)

8.0 CAPTAIN STRIKES FOR 42-POINTS PROFIT It’s profit after profit, day after day, winners all listed at SP, but often near on double the odds on BETDAQ in the market exchanges. Example: yesterday’s second winner was selected when 8.0 and more was available in the BETDAQ orange. The Thursday take was 42 points to recommended stakes from:

WON 4-1 CAPTAIN CATTISTOCK (8.0 on BETDAQ)
WON 11-10 AINSI VA LA VIE (supernap)

NICKY HENDERSON IS HOT AT ASCOT TODAY: Word has it that Nicky Henderson has set his stall out at Ascot today and Daqman checks out which offers are worth having. The supernap is looking for five in a row at Ffos Las. After the first forays in the value challenge last weekend, Daqman is already 2-0 up over Pricewise, so don’t miss tomorrow’s clash.

DOLOS HAS WEIGHT ADVANTAGE

1.00 Ascot Six-year-olds win this year on year and Sternrubin will be all the rage after his second to Yanworth a month or so back, but the race was not all that it seemed.

Though the ground was reasonable, it was run a slow 26 seconds outside the average time for the trip at Exeter, and Sternrubin lost some ground by jumping to the right (which is why he runs again on a clockwise track today).

But chasing should be the game for Paul Nicholls’ Dolos, who is related to the stable’s Champion Chaser Azertyuiop on the dam’s side.

Nicholls likes to take advantage of a four-year-old’s allowance so, while this one would be given an educational ride here by some stables, it’s a proper target when you come from Ditcheat, and Dolos (around 3-1 this morning) needs to strike while the ground is decent.

1.40 Ffos Las Juge Et Parti had Dark Invader 17 lengths behind when runner-up on today’s course 12 days ago.

And apparent danger, Noble Robin, has to overcome his stable’s current calamitous record of 50 runners in 18 days without a winner.

In fact, 14 of Jonjo O’Neill’s last 17 starters have been at double-figure odds – up to 22-1, 33-1 and 50-1 (twice) – always a sign that nothing is expected of them. In that time he has managed only two thirds.

Juge Et Parti is the first of two rides for Davy Russell on horses trained by Christian Williams. The other one is A Bold Move (2.15) but I am never very keen to bet in novice-chase handicaps.

ASSETS A SERIES WINNER ALREADY

1.50 Catterick The Jonjo runner, Strongly Suggested, drifted this morning, strongly suggesting more bad news for his followers.

Delusionofgrandeur has struggled beyond novice company and the handicapper has found no improvement in him (rated 134 to 136 most of the year).

It’s not easy to assess Thumb Stone Blues because he’s had only two chases, both slow run, particularly the last one when he was beaten favourite. Cheekpieces are applied today.

The well-supported Total Assets, flagship of a very small yard, is 12lb higher over fences than for his last success 11 months ago, but has improved over hurdles under her useful claimer.

Total Assets hasn’t been out of the first three in seven starts, winning three of them, including the Kelso heat of this stayers’ series last year: 7.2 taken on BETDAQ with place cover.

2.05 Ascot Nicky Henderson’s form in this in the last six seasons is 1133F1 and, though she has proved her speed for this trip with two bumper wins and a debut hurdles success, she is bred for stamina, by Kayf Tara out of a Strong Gale mare, who was a half-sister to Denman.

That all stacks up to quite a horse, and she is another getting a bit of help from the mare’s allowance but I doubt she needs it: 2.64 taken on BETDAQ, where she moved to the front of the market.

VALE CAN BE VERY GOOD ON HIS DAY

2.40 Ascot Kilcrea Vale has won when fresh in the last two years. ‘When he’s good, he’s very good,’ Nicky Henderson told the Racing Post. He reckons he can get 3m, so today should be no problem.

2.50 Ffos Las Midnight Silver is a shining offer at 5.5 on BETDAQ, unbeaten in three starts on this course and with form of 131 after long absences.

Claimer in the limelight Bryony Frost takes off 5lb so that Silver gets 12lb from Cobolobo, whose trainer has gone 50 runners without a winner (see Jonjo stats for 1.40 Ffos Las).

On the Road landed a hurdles four-timer straddling Spring and autumn of 2016, so no worries about his absence since a January-March chase hat-trick this year.

But trainer Evan Williams is almost as badly out of form as Jonjo: on 24 consecutive losers.

With one exception his horses are being beaten out of sight: take that one out and his last 11 finishers have been beaten a total of 354 lengths.

3.50 Ascot Henderson again. Verdana Blue made an error at a vital time on this course on the last day and is better than the bare form. Third in a Listed last season, she must have decent ground: 5.8 taken on BETDAQ early mouse.
