FORTUNE COOKIES: Today and tomorrow

GOLIATH CLEAR IN LA COUPE

FORTUNE COOKIES! Last year’s King George winner, Goliath, set alight his Ascot challenge this year with a Lambourn-style performance at Longchamp yesterday.

Goliath had been subdued and hampered in the QE11 Cup at Sha-Tin in April but lived up to his name, dropped down to Group-3 level yesterday.

He bounded away with the Group-3 La Coupe, going further clear the further they went over 1m 2f.

His nearest rival in the betting, Ganay and Royal Oak winner Iresine, was never going the pace set right from the gate by Christophe Soumillon on Francis-Henri Graffard’s five-year-old

* Goliath is added to Daqman’s Fortune Cookies. Full story tomorrow.

MAKE A MOVE FOR KNIGHT

⭕ 6.20 Pontefract Knightswood, stablemate of the 50-1 Derby runner-up, Lazy Griff, could give the yard its third winner since that great stable run on Saturday.

The six-year-old is dropping two levels from a class-2 place at Newmarket a month or so ago (5.1 taken on BETDAQ).

Perfectly Timed has won only in classes 4 and 5 yet is on 87 to Knightswood’s 86.

And a bigger problem for the selection could be Henrietta Knight’s Educator, whose class-4 strikes this Spring have prompted a rise of 8lb in the ratings.

‘JAK’ PLUMMETS IN CLASS

⭕ 7.00 Windsor The 10.0 Betdaq Betting Exchange offer Jakajaro has run 10 consecutive races in the Pattern since he won on soft ground in Ireland.

Twice Listed placed on the Flat since and a winner at Dundalk, he moved to ace sprints trainer Robert Cowell in the autumn and has not been disgraced in Groups 2 and 3 at Meydan.

Woolhampton (12.0 offers) ran well here at Windsor the last day, despite the firm ground. He’s won on soft at Ascot three times.

Regal Envoy has been in fine form since the autumn and won over CD here last time but the ground needs to dry out for Wlliam Knight’s runner during the day.

The three-year-olds Miraculous and Adrestia should produce a finisher. Miraculous, a 7.2 offer as I write, drops to the minimum trip after being gelded.

Twice a winner on top of the ground last summer, Adrestia escalated to Listed level but has her first run back and may need a sounder surface.

STAR BET IS AT BRIGHTON

★ NAP OF THE DAY: Whatever the weather for Regal Envoy tonight, Blenheim Star (4.02 Brighton) may already have scored for William Knight with his sole player at Brighton this afternoon.

Blenheim Star is back to her winning trip on the track she loves. Her Brighton record is 11031 yet she was 7.8 on BETDAQ this morning.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
