ACAPULCO FOR SEVEN NAPS OUT OF 10: Acapulco (WON 11-8) took the Sole Power Sprint at The Curragh yesterday to land Daqman’s seventh winning nap out of the last 10. They were:

WON 2-1 SILENT ECHO
WON 6-4 CHURCHILL (banker)
WON 9-1 WINTER
WON 4-7 HAVANA GREY
WON 2-1 ENABLE
WON 4-5 CLIFFS OF MOHER (banker)
WON 11-8 ACAPULCO

28-1 SHOT IS SO NEARLY FANTASTIC: Meanwhile, in France, Daqman named the huge outsider (for win and place) which finished second in the Prix Saint-Alary at Deauville, putting him 22-6 ahead of Pricewise for winning returns this season, 48 profit points clear. From just three races yesterday, he gave:

WON 11-8 ACAPULCO (nap)
2ND 28-1 VUE FANTASTIQUE

FINAL WEEK OF TRIALS AT YORK: It’s been tricky to follow the Classic unknowns and we spell out how Daqman has put you in the loop on both the Derby picture and the Oaks betting, as we reach the final week of trials at York.

CLASSIC SERVICE FROM DAQMAN..

You’ve been in the Classic loop free of charge. It costs you nothing for the constant flow of successful tips from Daqman, including three Classic winners so far.

And nothing to pay for his Derby and Oaks assessment and horses to follow which have brought dramatic trials triumphs.

In fact, yesterday’s Prix Saint-Alary winner, Sobetsu (WON 202-10) was in his top fillies’ spotter list and yesterday he tipped the runner-up, Vue Fantastique (28-1). Perhaps some eagle-eyed reader had the 290-1 forecast!

Here’s how the lists have panned out to produce a top three of colts ands fillies as we approach the final week of Classic trials, starting Wednesday at York:

SPOT THE OAKS WINNER (May 10 update Daqman Archive)

WON 2-1 Enable (nap and 25-1 taken for the Oaks)
WON 9-1 Winter (1,000 Guineas nap)
WON 202-10 Sobetsu (Prix Saint-Alary yesterday)

ABC OF THE DERBY CONTENDERS (May 9 Daqman Archive)

WON 6-4 Churchill (2,000 Guineas banker)
WON 4-5 Cliffs Of Moher (Dee Stakes nap, 10-1 taken for the Derby)
4TH 7-2 Mirage Dancer (Dee Stakes)

EARLY BIRDS (since May 8 Update)

WON 4-5 Cliffs Of Moher
WON 6-4 Deauville

CRYSTAL BALL ON THE DANTE

The top three for the Oaks and Derby could be modified after the two final trials this week, the Dante Stakes and the Musidora at York.

Crystal Ocean (Dante Stakes, York, Thursday) With Mirage Dancer getting a ‘sighter’ in the Dee Stakes, the same stable’s Crystal Ocean is now the talking horse for Thursday’s Dante.

Cracksman Current Dante favourite for John Gosden and already in the Derby contenders list

SPEED DATING IN THE MUSIDORA

Shutter Speed Already in the Oaks spotters list, seems to have frightened away the opposition in Wednesdays’s Musidora but more likely to go for the Prix de Diane (French Oaks)

Stablemate Icespire could even be second favourite in the Musidora for John Gosden, though Serenada (Roger Varian) and Vintage Folly (Hugo Palmer) are unexposed.

SECRET TO WINNING AT BRIGHTON

Would love to say that flat racing was back with a bang after the bizarre hiatus yesterday but it’s more of a whimper on Monday. Even Kempton are staging a jumps card!

Brighton and Windsor keep the flat show on the road and in the opener at Brighton (2.10) I am opposing the odds on favourite Golden Easter with Secret Strategy.

Brighton is a quirky old course and I like the fact that Secret Strategy has already proven form here. He finished second to the long odds on (1/12) Jumira Bridge over five furlongs – flattered no doubt to get so close to the 88 rated rival but still pulled six lengths clear of the third which takes some doing in a sprint.

Since then, Secret Strategy has finished fourth over six furlongs at Chelmsford 19 days go and comes in to this race fit.

Golden Easter has 2lb to find on the selection on official ratings and she has hasn’t been seen since finishing second at Wolverhampton last August and has also moved from Kevin Ryan to Robert Cowell.

Her form is OK – but I’m not sure any better than Secret Strategy to warrant such a disparity in BETDAQ prices.

I thought long and hard about a DAQMAN trademarked ‘Double Whammy’ (lay the odds-on shot and back the selection) but will stick with the win bet. It’s a long week with York to look forward to, so don’t want to get too busy today.

7.20 Windsor (Royal Windsor Stakes) A Listed race on tonight’s card by the Thames and my money is on Jallota. The Charlie Hills trained runner is better than Listed class, as he proved in his last two starts with third placed efforts at both Sandown and Newmarket.

Prior to that he won a Group 3 at Chantilly for which he picks up a 3lb penalty but should be able to overcome that. He seems versatile ground wise, although any rain would increase my optimism.

Firmament has been a model of consistency at Ascot in his last four starts and prior to that won the valuable Clipper Logistics Stakes at York. He doesn’t know how to run a poor race and should again put in a bold show.

8.20 Windsor The last race at Windsor used to be a favourites bonanza in the good old days but it always used to be a maiden and Prince K Abdullah had his fair share of winners.

The Prince may land tonight’s race – a competitive handicap over 1m 3f with Wordsearch who has Ryan Moore onboard for the first time. He met all kinds of trouble in running at Lingfield last time out and that run is best ignored. This is his first attempt over anything like tonight’s trip and he is still relatively lightly raced.
