FORTUNE COOKIES LAND THE BIG THREE LEOPARDSTOWN WINNERS: Daqman’s Fortune Cookies completed a hat-trick of the big three events at the Dublin Racing Festival when Delta Work (WON 5-2) took the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown yesterday from the favourite Kemboy, a one-two in the race for Daqman’s analysis and Order In. The Cookies triple whammy, maintaining their 50% strike rate, was:

Daqman also had returns yesterday from Asterion Forlonge (WON 4-1 from 6.8 on BETDAQ) and the place from Cerberus (3RD 6-1 from 9.1 on BETDAQ). His Saturday successes included Greaneteen (WON 6-4, Scottish Champion Chase)

HERE’S HOW TO WIN WHEN YOU LOSE..
It didn’t all go my way. But the Daqman betting and staking plans maintained their profitability, while I watched closely for future bets and situations from the weekend’s Dublin festival.
Did I say ‘closely’? I keep a record of my losers, as well as my winners, and hope the layers forget about them when these horses come back, plotted up for revenge.
The first two races yesterday hardly need that term ‘closely’ to see the future but they serve as examples of bets that lost which are sure to bring me winners in time.
In the case of Jeremys Flame, I shall expect him to win a good handicap in the Spring. Note to handicapper: don’t you dare touch his mark (unless you care to drop it)!
As for Cerberus, he will give me a completely different approach to the card in his next race, though I think it was circumstances exposed him to folly yesterday.
Jeremy’s Flame (12.55 Leopardstown). Confidence kept him strong in the market at 6-1 SP (8.0 taken on BETDAQ. Result: badly hampered three out and reported lame after the interference. So we may need a long memory.
Cerberus (1.25 Leopardstown) Looked all over the winner when clear at the last but idled on the run-in and threw the race away, a beaten third.
Don’t blame jockey Mark Walsh; he was left in the lead at the last and, whether or not Mark knew of his mount’s tendencies, he had no option but to try to ride a finish.
The fourth horse was 23 lengths behind which suggests that the day will come when we can forgive and forget.
🏇 HOOFNOTE: In the not-so-lucky last (before the bumper) my main selection, Dallas Des Pictons unseated rider, leaving Jack Kennedy with a broken leg.
It was only in October, Jack had an enforced rest with a broken collarbone.
Earlier in the day in the Irish Gold Cup, he had looked so strong and professional on Delta Work, keeping Kemboy at bay.
NATIONAL TRIALS NEXT TWO WEEKENDS
⚠️ HEADS UP The programme for the week has the potential strength of bets revealed as: Bronze: bets to win 10 points. Silver: target 20 points. Gold: supernaps and stakes to win 20, 30 even 50 points.

MONDAY (bronze) We’ve already lost Fontwell today, and Carlisle (Jumps) and Wolverhampton (AW ) are really only bronze-rated meetings.
TUESDAY (bronze): Market Rasen, Sedgefield are Jumps, and Kempton (AW)
WEDNESDAY (mainly bronze): sometimes room for silver-level bets at Ludlow if the class-3 races (two of them) stand up; Southwell (AW) and Wolverhampton (AW) bronze.
THURSDAY: silver class 1 and 2 at Huntingdon; a couple of decent handicaps at Doncaster; the rest bronze. Thurles, Chelmsford (AW) and Newcastle (AW) all lower level.
FRIDAY: Some strong (silver stakes) class-3 handicaps at Kempton (Jumps); Bangor (bronze) and so, too, Southwell and Chelmsford AW.
SATURDAY: We strike gold at last with three consecutive Graded races at Newbury, including the Game Spirit Chase and the Denman Chase. A decent gold and silver card at Warwick and Lingfield (AW). Bronze-level bets for Uttoxeter and Wolverhampton (AW), if any.
SUNDAY: Potentially the race of the week for a strike at big odds is the Punchestown Grand National Trial (Grade B) before – on Saturday week – the Haydock Park Grand National Trial (Grade 3).
PENNY HAS DROPPED FOR MALLOW
2.55 Carlisle Defying double penalties is never easy but can be done as Ask A Bumble Bee proved when winning the closing bumper at Wetherby on Saturday and is now an interesting outsider for the Champion Bumper.
Penny Mallow is taken to brush aside her burden and complete a hat-trick over hurdles after testing ground wins at Plumpton and at Wetherby last time out where she made all for a comfortable six and a half length win.
Lily’s Gem is her market rival but this one comes into this on the back of a really disappointing effort at Ayr last time out when she she was fourth of five and beaten 32 lengths – despite starting favourite. She did win a bumper here back in 2018 but Penny Mallow is preferred.
Red Reminder won a modest maiden at Sedgefield last time out and this is much tougher under a penalty for her.
7.00 Wolverhampton On a day of ‘bronze’ bets for me this is a race I must include being a class 2 – a rare touch of quality on a quiet start to the week.
Richard Hannon’s Oh This Is Us bids to go one better than last year when he finished second but it looked a weaker race 12 months ago and the current form of Oh This Is Us would have to be taken on trust as he hasn’t run since finishing down the field in a Listed contest at Lingfield.
Preference has to go to Another Touch who is bang in form since switching to the all-weather and bids to make it 4/4 here.
His last two wins have also been at Class 2 level and he is taken to again account for Via Serendipity who was a close second to him at Newcastle last time out.
7.30 Wolverhampton Richard Fahey, trainer of Another Touch, has live chances of back to back winners on tonight’s card with Windsor Cross here.
He was a good third at Lingfield last time out and the form of that race has taken a big boost since with the winner Toro Dorado going in again at Wolverhampton and the runner-up Holiday Magic winning his next start at Lingfield.
