ABSURDE HIT: 9-4 DAQMAN NAP: Absurde landed a 9-4 nap for Daqman in the Sussex Champion Hurdle yesterday and what may be a crucial winner for Willie Mullins. Today Daqman naps one for Dan Skelton as the title leader runs 12 to try to stay in front despite a Champion Chase challenge from Willie.

ABSURD MISS: NATIONAL 1-2-3: Daqman nominates forecast bets at three meetings and a tricast on the Irish Grand National. He had the 1-2-3 in the Aintree Grand National without naming the £7,6665 tricast or even the £222 forecast so had to ease the pain with a small-stakes flutter today.

WHO IS BIG BETDAQ VALUE

⭕ 5.00 Fairyhouse (Irish Grand National) AGE this century: 7yo 9; 8yo 5; 9yo 4; 6yo 3; 10yo 3. WEIGHT: None above 11st 4lb.

TRAINERS with runners: Thomas Gibney 2, Dermot McLoughlin 2, Jonjo O’Neill 2, Willie Mullins 2, Martin Brassil and Gordon Eliottt 1 each.

1: JOHNNYWHO just held by Daily Present with Sa Majeste a well beaten third in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham. Johnnywho now 8lb better with the winner. BETDAQ 17.0 taken.

2: HAITI COULEURS rapid improver since the autumn, winning three of four chases, including the NH Chase at Cheltenham (3m 6f), when Now Is The Hour was two lengths down when falling two out but has yet to win a chase.

Will Do (third) stayed on at the finish but jumped left throughout (Fairyhouse is a right-handed track). Duffle Coat six lengths fourth when brought down two out.

3: BIOLUMINESCENCE fine big mare not yet tried at a trip but clearly a strong galloper and stayer, with stablemate Now Is The Hour a form lead into the race. BETDAQ 13.0 taken.

HASTA LA VISTA, WILLIE BABY

⭕ 2.35 Plumpton (Sussex Champion Chase) See you later, Wilie baby! That’s the hopeful view for Dan Skelton and Asta La Pasta, who was back to the minimum trip to score at Ayr 10 days back.

That he gets 2m 4f, and wins well over it, is a bonus if the forecast showers change the ground.

Mullins’ sole contender Westport Cove, has had eight races, consistent but not progressive, all within a 4lb ratings range. Significantly, favourite just the once, when beaten a neck the last day.

Sans Bruit came back in terrific style at Aintree but he’s claimed off now by Paul Nicholls, who has Harry Cobden on Matterhorn, like Martator, his conqueror at Ascot in the autumn, slowly coming down the handicap.

BETDAQ value: 6.5 Asta La Pasta, 9.9 Sans Bruit

SUNNY SPOT IN THE HANDICAP

⭕ 3.45 Plumpton Mr Escobar is quirky and wouldn’t have won a maiden hurdle in Ireland so was taken to Sedgefield in November.

He enjoyed an easy lead here yesterday but weakened to a late challenge, though he’d set up the race in very slow time.

The Skelton runner, Mostly Sunny, found it hard to cope when penalised for a summer double last year and, while he’s back down in the weights, he’s raised in class here and wouldn’t want much rain. It’s the 17.0 BETDAQ offer that makes him worth a pound.

If the going stays on top, Wicked Thoughts could follow up a strolling victory when breaking his maiden at Ascot. BETDAQ 7.9.

Excelero was given a break after back-to-back winners and now As The Fella Says, 14 lengths behind him in February, tries to turn the tables on the strength of a wind op.

The handicapper may have caught up with Star Of Affinity, two stone higher for form figures of 23113 since October.

OKEE! ONE-TWO AT KEMPTON

⭕ 2.55 (Magnolia Stakes) Teumessias Fox, the Rosebery winner here, is 3-4 on the course but officially 8lb behind Okeechobee, second in this race last year (Lions Pride third) before taking a Group 3 at Sandown. Botanical has the benefit of an outing.

⭕ 3.30 (1m handicap) Sky Safari is stepped up in trip for a stable in form but Top Of The Class loves this place 211021.

⭕ 4.05 (7f handicap) Follow Your Heart (BETDAQ 14.5) is four times a CD winner here but North View is back in the blinkers which helped him to a big field win (at Newbury) and second (here) in the autumn.
