MOORE THE GREAT ARTIST
The jockey can’t come without the horse. You start to question the old saying when Ryan Moore is the rider.
Of course, the spotlight was on Aidan O’Brien, as he followed up the French 2,000 Guineas with the French Derby yesterday.
But once again Moore produced the positioning, timing, and drive needed for mastery of a Classic, a performance which O’Brien afterwards described as ‘incredible.’
Let’s not forget the horse. Camille Pissarro, another son of Wootton Bassett, gave his all for O’Brien’s second French Derby win, boosting the same sire’s Henri Matisse, who had beaten him into third in the French Guineas.
Should Delacroix now win the Epsom Derby for Moore and O’Brien on Saturday, he will continue the trend of great artists of saddle and stable in more than just name.

THE DREAM RESULT
⭕ 5.15 Brighton This won’t take much winning and looks set to go to the Betdaq Betting Exchange market leader Victors Dream who is the only previous course and distance winner in the field having won this same race last year.
The Marco Botti trained runner ran back into form over course and distance last time out when only collared in the closing stages and off the same mark will be hard to beat, again partnered by 7lb apprentice Phoebe Edwards.
Plenty of his rivals are struggling for form and/or look firmly in the grip of the handicapper.
The exception might be Apple’s Angel who is partnered by Josephine Gordon. The last time she partnered the filly they popped up at 22/1 at Kempton!
THE BET IS JETTIE
⭕ 6.45 Windsor A novice event for fillies and it looks to have the best bet on the card in the shape of Jettie’s Run who showed great promise as a two-year-old in two starts at Kempton.
Runner-up on debut, she went on to beat Bermuda Longtail who franked the form herself by finishing runner-up in a Listed race at York last month.
That’s definitely the best form on offer. Tropical Heat will need to do a lot better than her Wolverhampton fourth in April and is closely matched with Cuban Lady who was third in that race.
TURNING UP THE HEAT
⭕ 7.15 Windsor An interesting six furlong handicap where the eye is drawn to the Richard Fahey trained Strong Warrior who is unbeaten after wins at Ayr and Pontefract. The value of the form looks questionable though and a starting mark of 91 is high enough.
We might get more of a spin from another unbeaten runner, Rajaking who starts handicap life with a mark 5lb lower than the Fahey runner but his form looks just as good if not better. He was a course and distance winner last month and is still on the upgrade.
I’ll also include So Darn Hot after his excellent Newmarket third last time out in a class 2.
