NAP HAND OF BETDAQ RACES: Exkaliber cut through the pack at the end of his race at Wolverhampton yesterday but failed by a neck to land Daqman’s nap. Today our tipping maestro looks at the nap hand of BETDAQ-sponsored races at Kempton Park.

4.30 Kempton (Win Big With Betdaq Multiples Maiden Fillies’ Stakes) According to the trade paper, Charles Hills is getting 100% out of his horses. But, in the case of the unraced Movementneverlies, 100% of what?

We’d be betting blind unless the market speaks. So far, it is quiet: no ‘Movement’ to speak of, at around 5.7 this morning. Petra has been one for a trickle of money, though – on breeding – still racing over an unsuitably short trip, so connections probably have longer-distance handicaps in mind.

I can’t say I’m overjoyed with Joe Fanning after Exkaliber’s defeat by a neck yesterday but a jockey can’t come without the horse nor, in the case of Special Meaning, can he come without some semblance of stable form behind him: Mark Johnston is 0-20 in the last fortnight and I’d be more inclined to lay not back.

That leaves Poet’s Prospect as one that has the experience of a race, and has a stable (Marco Botti’s) firing, if not on all cylinders. But 3.3 on BETDAQ this morning did not have me rushing to the orange. Not much juice in that offer in a race of many question-marks.

5.00 Kempton (Back And Lay At betdaq.com Maiden Stakes) They were trying to give away the paper favourite, Rayadour, this morning at 6.2, with another Botti hottie, Magical Kingdom, the one for the money, 3.95 compared with the forecast 7-1.

Rayadour was a heartbreak horse in France, bred by the Aga Khan as the get of his beloved Azamour, but nowhere near the sire’s status; in fact, a modest maiden and a flop for Alan King, debuting over hurdles here in November. He could improve, when acclimatized, but the market says not today.

Magical Kingdom looks well placed here, as a three-year-old getting massive weight-for-age allowances, but beware El Massivo, enjoying the same generous conditions and already with an outing under his belt, though trainer William Jarvis could be in better form.

5.30 Kempton (Betdaq Mobile Apps Handicap Division 1) Such is the support for Vitznau, he is isolated at the front of the market, 4.4 points clear, at the time of writing. He hasn’t put back-to-back wins together since the summer of 2007.

But a plummeting mark, all the way down to 55 from his last win off 93 in March 2010, means that his penalty for scoring over 7f here a week ago still leaves him well in on his old form, though hardly carrying a featherweight at the top of a 46-55 handicap.

It was only his second outing for trainer John Butler and Vitznau clearly got on well with the admirable Adam Kirby. Kirby is suspended today and Chris Catlin (currently 1-31) does not inspire confidence, unless this is indeed an armchair ride from the one draw.

On 8lb better terms, Ermyntrude, from the other end of the stalls in 10, must have a chance of turning round the placings with Vitznau over today’s CD in November, having won narrowly here in September.

Aegean King is another CD winner, and yet another hold-up horse, and that seems to be the problem with this race: where’s the pace coming from and, if we are struggling to find a leader, what kind of pace will it be?

I couldn’t put you off anything but I’m leaning (pun intended) towards a win-and-place interest in Athletic (10.0 on BETDAQ as I write), since he is inclined to lug right-handed and, for some unaccountable reason, has spent his career, going lefthanded.

He’s a prominent runner and some bits of form put him in at the finish. Of the rest Aegean King looks too big at 7.2. Maybe his face fits now!

6.00 Kempton (Betdaq Mobile Apps Handicap Division 2) Boris The Bold here at Kempton and Tijuca at Lingfield have both promised to win at this mile, and Leitrim King should benefit from a drop back in trip.

Snag is they’re all maidens and do we really want to back potential against experience? The winning form is Olney Lass’s four career wins but she’s never reached the frame going righhanded.

I was left thinking Rapid Water was too big at 8.2, back to the mark (55) off which he won over CD in December. Luke Morris booking suggests he’s ‘the business’ today.

6.30 Kempton (Betdaq Casino Games Handicap) A raider from Michael Herrington’s yard (23% strike rate with travellers) seems more formidable at the moment than one from his Yorkshire rival, the out-of-form Mark Johnston (dropped to 15% success with runners in the south).

Herrington’s Taxiformissbyron struck form over the Kempton CD and has Lincoln Rose to set the pace. ‘Taxi’ didn’t quite reach Lincoln Rose when they were third and fifth at Lingfield last month but my selection enjoyed the change of tactics on the last day, keeping up with the pace rather than being held up out of her ground as at Lingfield.
